non mi ero accorta che il romanzo fosse di vindice lecis quando l'ho preso in biblioteca e sto avendo gli stessi problemi che ho avuto leggendo "il vincitore" l'anno scorso... non metto in dubbio che faccia tantissima ricerca prima di scrivere i suoi romanzi storici ma non sopporto che scriva ogni frase in modo tale da poter mettere tutte le informazioni che ha imparato leggendo documenti su documenti

non ci credo di aver letto gran parte del libro sul tipico paesino americano e aver trovato solo ora una frase piena di profondo razzismo

i was already skeptic as the narrator is trying too hard to sound old and wise by using faux profound words, but this bothers me so much, how can you say you accurately counted something you yourself define innumerable... words have meanings!

kind of not liking that darcy keeps being called a "boy" when in the original novel hes almost thirty - and anyway in the same sentences all the young unmarried ladies are called women, which makes "boy" sound even more infantilising
a boy would not be at a ball, even if he were a 15 y/o he would have been called a young (gentle)man at the very least
