I’ve tried some of Adrian Tchaikovsky’s fantasy stories before and they never really worked for me. His sci-fi work written like a fairy tale however? Impeccable. This book (or at least the first part, I can’t remember how long we stay in fairytale lane) and Ogres are so dear to me.
