This is what I wanted! The thrill! The build up! The suspense and tension!

Though I will say, I am curious as to how Sienna will play into all of this. Is she really a bad person? Is she being manipulated? Or is she truly looking out for Jovie?

Because when Jovie died in the first book, “Prey Drive”, Sienna seemed to care. A little… but… her slight faltering actions make me suspect her.

Bash Pov: “—most beautiful face I’ve ever laid eyes on. One that causes my heart to sputter and stop on my chest. Because I recognize that face instantly. It’s Sienna.”


Ummm, Bash. What do you mean Sienna, your twin sister, is the the most beautiful face you’ve ever laid your eyes on?!!! 🤨 (I don’t appreciate the hint of Alabama in this!)

Okay, it’s making a little sense now. But, I’m not WOW’ed yet.

I’m already confused.
In Prey Drive, Jovie’s ex already died.
(I won’t give spoilers)
And within the first page of this book, he’s back(?) and he’s alive (??). And Jovie is back in a relationship with him (???!) and they are back to living with her mom (?!!).

Ummm… this contradicts everything so far.

Some parts have made me eye roll but I know that’s just apart of the story. The smut scenes though- 🤭.

“Or maybe it’s because I’m completely fucked in the head from all my abandonment issues, and the idea of *anyone* wanting me is enough to make me spread my legs and hand myself over to them.”

ITS TOO REAL OF A SENTENCE. OH MY.

So, Jovie is our Mc’s name. Ok. Took us 100 pages to find out. But besides the point, again, no opinion so far. It’s not that boring…?

Okaaaaayyy, so the LI (Sebastian) goes into (I’ll call her MC because I don’t remember her name/don’t think it’s been mentioned) “house”, she’s asleep and drunk. and randomly while half asleep, she m@sterb@ates… using his hand?? Letting this stranger fondle her as she f1ngers herself… interesting…

So far, I don’t have much of an opinion. It’s alright. A little confusing in some parts but ok.

The tension so far is pretty good hehe

I finished ‘Web of Lust and Sorrow’ and also didn’t really tickle my fancy very much. 2/5 ⭐️.

Just finished, ‘Demons and Damiana’ and I’ll be honest… It didn’t tickle my fancy. Like the smut was good-ish but it wasn’t my favorite.
Over all a 2.5/5 ⭐️

I just finished, ‘Frostbitten’ and let me just say 5/5 ⭐️🫡. The perfect speed. the perfect smut.

I just finished ‘Scream for the Scarecrow’ and ugh. It’s so good. It’s a shame it didn’t keep going. I believe this has its own book if I’m not mistaken? So, I will be trying to look into that so I can (hopefully) finish where I left off~ 4/5 ⭐️

Would be 5/5 if this was it’s own book and keep going! But the smut… 10/10 🫡

Just finished ‘Feast Of The Vampire King’— and I can’t lie and say I’m not a little disappointed but how rushed it felt (granted this is just a short story). I feel like it would of been better had there been a little more oomph… a little extra something. you know? but not awful. 3/5 ⭐️

Okay, Charlotte Byrd, so… that shit time skip you added was “weeks later” whilst on the trip… but prior to going to maui, Olive only took a week off her job… we are reminded of that one week trip duration on page 194. AND OLIVE SAYS THERES STILL DAYS LEFT. SO WHAT IS IT?! WEEKS LATER OR A WEEK?!!!

Now I see why there’s so many bad reviews.

So, Charlotte Byrd, you decided to CUT OUT THE BEST FUCKING PART and insert a BLANDDDDDD fucking time skip and ruin all the sexual tension and relationship building for this shit smut scene?!

My rating for this book is officially down to a 2 and half stars. Because that PISSED ME OFF.

I get there’s a time skip BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?!!!? YOU GO FROM A EMOTIONALLY DRAINING SCENE TO SMUT?? MIND YOU OLIVE AND NICOLAS WERENT EVEN GONNA SEE EACHOTHER?? BUT THE TIME SKIP IS THEM HAVING SEX?!!? WTF IS THIS!! ITS SO RANDOM!!! 0/10 WHERES THE BUILDUP?! WHERES THE TENSION?! YOU CANT GO FROM THAT TO THIS!!!?!
