hooooo boy that mother is a piece of work. toxic, competitive, selfish

I also don’t think this is a book I can listen to while doing other work that involves brain processing/reading (like scrolling/reading captions/texting a friend). This I have to pause because it feels like every interaction they have is very intentional and I don’t want to miss the progression.

Dang this one hits. It’s better than the first. It’s less clownish and the characters are more realistic. The women aren’t being objectified by the men & pop culture references were reduced by A LOT if not removed. (A book I never heard of was mentioned). Chris is bf goals (for now).
Might be a 5 star depending on how the plot is handled. Can totally see this being a movie.

Honestly really enjoying this one. It’s slow with lots of descriptions without rushing to plot progression and that’s exactly my vibe…I like the immersive, lifestyle experience especially for one of my favorite times in history

Also too much repetition of “this spellcaster” and using the word witch/warlockway too much in casual back and forth instead of “people” or “guy/girl” or whatever

I did not like that spicy scene that felt out of place. Using it to explain healing was ridiculous

“I will meet my death with logan kingston” and yet he’s given zero indication of even remotely threatening her why are we not thinking for ourselves?

Oh great another female main character who is very clearly not like other girls but is actively in denial about any possibility of having power when everyone else can see it

But why did we kill the damn dog!?

Okay i see the vision for the rest but im over the spicy parts, fast forwarding just want the story. Most of it really wasn’t needed, this wouldve been better as closed door

The issue with Renee already blew up so what is left to resolve here for another 76%???

There is something in the progression of this story that is just not working for me.
There has been no development in the core issue that left us in a cliffhanger from book 1.
Fmc keeps talking about taking back her power, but there was literally one instance of her standing up for herself plus calling security on someone

Why can’t she ever find her shoes

Are we able to celebrate the sexiness of curvy gals without putting down other women? No? Still?

Really hateable character. We already know he’s selfish and a liar, we don’t need the pov of his personal justifications
