I’m such a sucker for a good historical fiction book. This one has so many secrets in it. I don’t want to put it down!

Listening to this audio book AT WORK??
Oh my… I guess I shouldn’t have expected anything other than crazy hot sex after all of the trigger warnings in the beginning of the book. 🫢

This book has me hooked by the end of the first chapter!
Just a few pages in and the characters feel fully formed. There’s crude humor, raw emotion and family animosity. At the end of the chapter, something was revealed that shifts the goofy tone into something way more ominous.
It’s been awhile since a book has made me feel this way. I’m enjoying this author’s writing style and can’t wait to read more.

The first 1/2 of the book was strange and seemed like the author didn’t take the time to develop the story like she did with the first. It seems rushed, like she was in a hurry to get to the nitty gritty without laying out any of the groundwork.
Now that we’re getting to the drama, it’s more engaging. It’s still pretty predictable, but again, it’s a very easy read and I’m flying through it.

These books are very easy readers. Similar to Colleen Hoover’s - they’re a good book to read when your brain needs a break. They’re not overly complicated and they’re extremely easy to digest.
It’s not the kind of book that’ll have you on the edge of your seat, but it’s a good choice if you can’t decide what to read next.

I’m on chapter 17 of Educated and I was not prepared for how emotional this memoir would make me. The story is heavy and unsettling. I keep having to pause just to process what I read.

I got choked up when Tara’s brother helped her when the horse spooked. That brief moment of kindness felt huge against the backdrop of her otherwise bleak life.

My heart hurts for Tara.

Loving this so far! It’s haunting and empowering (if you are a female who feels at all suppressed, you will love the FMC who is very outspoken in a ‘by the book’ puritan community)

You're captives of a civilizational system that more or less compels you to go on destroying the world in order to live... I think there are many among you who would be glad to release the world from captivity... This is what prevents them: They're unable to find the bars of the cage.
