i loveee this book!

oh my goodness; this American summer vibe is so perfect.

Alex’s story is so tragic 😔 however, i truly expected that grave to be Hank’s… where is Hank?? i’m desperate to know.
again, i feel compelled to reiterate how beautiful this writing is.

what breathtaking writing, i can’t stop thinking about how beautiful the words are as i read them.
if there’s one thing i will always appreciate, it is talented writing; the airiness and almost haunting imagery comes to life, a picture perfectly formed in my mind.

the writing really brings this book to life—it’s so atmospheric and evocative.

Addie is literally the foil of Henry. she’s ambitious, unbreakable, and dauntless; Henry, however, is emotional, fragile, and pensive. ironically, this universe V.E. Schwab has created has made the two irrevocably perfect for each other the second they were cursed.

i knew there was more to Henry than his eccentric, ambiguous facade!
i also have to admit, despite my growing love for this story, i much prefer the chapters about Addie’s past in 18th century France.

i’m sorry, i don’t like Tristan. his character annoys me too much. 😭 i do really like Samantha and her determination, i’m waiting to see her character develop.

oh how i adore Addie—please, Henry, don’t break her heart. 🥹

this book feels very cringey, i’m sorry.
there are aspects of it that i like… but that can only stretch so far.

uhm… i’m crying; how many times has Xavier been referred to as ‘Rhysand?’
i never thought i would be so cringed out by this, but oh well.

each page feels like i’m falling deeper and deeper into complexity surrounding Addie’s life—this writing is so poetic and smooth; it’s perfect!

this writing is breathtaking: “Books, she has found, are a way to live a thousand lives—or to find strength in a very long one.”

okay… so this is insane.

Hirai why?! that was so sad, as much as i wish she listened to her sister in the beginning, her redemption still touched my heart.

if Phoebe and Gary don’t ditch the wedding and escape within the solitary walls of that little ‘winter keeper’ estate, i’m going to lose my marbles.

i’m admitting that: yes even through i just read about Gary having his beared shaven and transforming him into the clean-cut groom; i did in fact imagine him without a beard since the moment he was introduced.

‘wife and husband’ was such an emotional story, that was so sweet.

this book is so adorable. 🥹

there is an unconventional but poignant relationship developing between Phoebe and Juice. 🥹

“…she feels equally beautiful. More beautiful. She is alive. Enchanted. I have fingers, she thinks, and brings them to the surface of the water. Look at these magical f***ing fingers.”

i have never once been married, been in a serious relationship, suffered a pre-mid-life crisis, but this novel is making me feel like i have experienced a lot more emotions and feelings beyond just 17 years.
this book is astonishing.

i’m officially in love with this book, Phoebe has won me over with her sway and irrevocably realist view of life.

this unreliable narrator form is as interesting as it is frustrating.

i’m in love with the writing-style of this book.

is she a siren? don’t tell me! i love prefiguring the plot.

i absolutely adore this writing.
