hey so this reads like the inner monologue of a serial killer!!! i GET that he's supposed to be the male version of yoi and that they have so much in common because of that shared experience but i simply do not care!!!! and i'm frustrated that the mangaka thought i would!!!! this guy is WEIRD and i will not be getting over how he revealed his feelings knowing that yoi is already with someone else. gross behavior

nah this is tropey bullshit you're not gonna develop yoi and ichimura so well in these past few volumes just to randomly throw in a third party and expect me to see him as a real option. and as if him confessing his feelings and hugging her out of nowhere is supposed to endear me to him????? okay we didn't get exactly what i wanted BUT i do think it's telling that ichimura's biggest reaction came from the earrings, not the makeup or dress. he's WAY more affected by yoi's desire to match with him than he is at her attempt to look more feminine

oh my god okay double tragic backstory!!! the thing with yoi being insecure about her sister looking more feminine and therefore more attractive to guys gives me a ton of hope for ichimura assuring her that her masculine side is incredibly attractive to him. and ichimura's family just gets even more fractured the more we learn about it wow. no wonder he's touch starved

noooooo this is exactly what i was worried about with yoi suddenly feeling like she has to "doll herself up" to make ichimura happy and be a proper gf. i REALLY hope ichimura says something like "hey i like this just as much as the outfit from yesterday, you don't have to force girliness on yourself if you don't want to". cause he CLEARLY likes her no matter how masc or femme she's presenting on a particular day

i truly can't get enough of moments like these where yoi and ichimura are both simultaneously but separately blushing like crazy and kicking their feet. and especially right after ichimura just opened up about not knowing how to express affection without making it sexual??? and he's THIS affected by a hug????? he wants to kiss yoi so bad but i fear it might kill him

hey ohji that is an incredibly weird thing to ask right after she told you she has a boyfriend???? even if it really is because of his sister's birthday, he literally made it sound like he was asking her out. plus, he clearly likes her, so i feel like he should be trying to distance himself, not get even closer????? ugh i hope he gets fully friend-zoned soon, i don't even get what his purpose in the story is

maybe i got my hopes up for something that isn't really the intention, but i'm still hoping that yoi learns to embrace her masculinity as well as her femininity through dating ichimura!!!

this fucking chapter. just elevated a pretty good shojo pairing to a fantastic one. the ichimura backstory that we ALL saw coming, yoi finally expressing her desires, ichimura pulling her close and letting her FEEL how nervous and excited he is about her confession. fucking perfection 10/10. they just both want to be wanted for once!!!!!! seen for who they really are and wanted BECAUSE of it, not despite it

oh my GOD okay first of all the way that he zeroed in on her in that massive crowd and when she’s wearing a mask???? that’s love right there. second of all, i thought it would have to be ichimura to take the leap but i now realize that that was so backwards cause he’s been the one instigating and leaping this entire time, even if he hasn’t been totally vulnerable. that will come later, it’s yoi’s turn now

idk what it’s gonna take for ichimura to be fully vulnerable with yoi but it really needs to happen in order for this to work. he keeps letting little things slip here and there (which is part of why she fell for him at all imo) but when he follows them up with this shut down, it’s so confusing for her. i do think this instance is the clearest though so maybe she can take the leap and ask him straight up about it

yoi having the convo with her sister where she urges her to go with the flow and leap before looking, and then yoi quite literally falling down the stairs into ichimura’s arms right afterwards???????? insane work. also ichimura’s reaction and immediate nervousness about touching her for too long??? yoi my love this guy is not a player he is a DORK

proud of ichimura for outright admitting that he’s jealous but i fear he needs to use more words than that to really show yoi the depth of his feelings!! his character is so interesting though, i love seeing his walls go up when he’s scared or insecure cause it’s so obvious that that’s what he’s doing. he’s SO avoidant and i’m sure it comes from his distant familial situation

okay. idk if this manga is REALLY interested in exploring non-binary gender expressions but there’s something about ohji focusing SO much on yoi being a girl here that makes me feel icky. especially with that flashback to ichimura calling her “incredibly beautiful” with no gender attachment whatsoever. he’s the only one who seems to encourage yoi’s gray area rather than shoving her into either binary

ichimura could very easily be just an annoyingly cocky mmc who the author expects you to give a pass cause he’s hot, but these moments when yoi reciprocates even in the SMALLEST ways and he fully reboots and then bursts into the biggest smile????????? it really reframes his bravado as a protective layer. literally all she did was WAVE AT HIM and his brain did a hard reset

their coy insecure flirting is SO adorable, i love going back and forth and seeing their reactions cause it’s so obvious that they’re both incredibly down bad and nervous and overthinking every little thing

ew okay i really don’t like yoi’s friends!! wtf is their problem and why do they keep talking about her gender expression like she’s not RIGHT THERE????? surely if they actually cared about her, they’d ask her how she was feeling about all this rather than just commenting on her “princeliness”. at least yoi acknowledges that it’s gross!! i hope she calls them out at some point

I LOVE SEEING THEM BOTH BE NERVOUS WRECKS AFTER AN INTERACTION LIKE THIS!!!!!! it's SO endearing oh my god. and that shirt grab??????? was insane. the fucking LOOK on ichimura's face, he didn't dare move even for a few seconds after she ran away. they're both so inexplicably drawn to each other and i am loving this tension in the buildup

more of ichimura being bold, waiting for yoi to react to said boldness, and then backpedaling with an excuse. he really is so confident and yet so insecure at the same time

shohei immediately seeing through saku's slacker "i don't care about anything so i never try" act is SO good. he's not even angry at saku for not being able to stay late bc he's already pegged him as a reliable guy who gets his work done even if he isn't loudly enthusiastic about it, he's just angry that saku lets people assume the worst about him. that he actively ENCOURAGES people to do so

oh OUCH rintaro is seriously just an angel and i would like to personally punch every person who's ever judged him or assumed he was too scary to talk to. and ayato feeling all stressed about wanting everyone to get along and work together is so relatable oh my god he's also such an angel
