Hild the Humble - Michael R. Miller
A short and well told story. But by now I'm tired of all these snippets that are obviously part of a bigger series and don't stand so well on their own.

Fragile Gods - J.D.L. Rosell
Unfortunately, I never felt grounded enough in this fascinating world to really enjoy the story. 10 pages or so more to add depth to it would have been nice.

The Power of Perception - J. Zachary Pike
An unusual villain origin story. The corporate speak mixed up with high fantasy was fun.

No surprise, I am loving this. The writing feels more indulgent, probably because the author knows anyone who will read this already loves the characters (true).
It also makes me want to reread the Riyria Revelations again. x3

The Last Sentinel - Rob J. Hayes
Short and nice atmosphere, honestly don't know what else to say. :"D

Lord of Vengeance - Michael R. Fletcher
Best story so far, with quite some twists and turns for such a short tale. But seriously, what is up with those German words as names? When someone called 'Beschissener Held' turned up I had to fight to keep reading.

The Wanderer - A.C. Cobble
A story I enjoyed by the end, though the musings of our main character felt a bit pointless and overly long in the beginning. Probably the pitfall of putting all the action in the latter half.

Sails at Dusk - Patrick Swenson
To be honest, the modern setting threw me a little at first but it worked really well in contrast to the fantasy element. I enjoyed this little unusual story a lot.

The Darkdancer - Ramón Terrell
Very cool desert setting and interesting magic system, even if the most of the story was a conversation with an unwilling participant.

Curse these Metal Hands by Ben Galley
Solid short work with a story arc and a well built world and everything. A bit wordy but I had a good time.

A Darker Talent by M.L. Spencer
Very interesting short tale that makes me want to read the Dragon Mage really bad. Wish it was longer

The Parable of the Silk Weaver by R.R. Virdi
Really interesting concept, weird execution? It wasn't the plot that threw me but the writing style, the way the sentences were structured. And after the Xth repetition that every piece of fabric tells a story I wanted to throw my kindle across the room.

Still waiting for a plot but at even if it's like this the whole way through I won't be mad x3

Rival of Ghosts - Dyrk Ashton
Good start, engaging middle and the end tapered out a bit, but it is still my favorite story so far.

The Last Ride of Kanashimi - Zack Argyle
A short and sweet story. The names of our charakters threw me a bit, both being Japanese words. 読み始める前から、それが悲しい話になると思っていた。(´ω`)

A Mother's Love by Andy Peloquin
Well. A long story, which could have been shorter if the world had been a tad simpler, but it needed a lot of explaining. I guess it belongs to a bigger universe of existing stories, but for someone who doesn't know anything about it, I could have done with less world-building and a more concise focus on the theme.
I didn't hate it, but I'm not sure I liked it either.

A generous helping of insect horror. Nice :"D

My Soul Has Teeth - Sarah Chorn
ahhhh I'm a bit sad, the writing is so beautiful but the world it is set in doesn't grip me at all. I just can't picture the characters, which is the biggest problem for my brain to enjoy this.

--The Old Lie by Ryan Cahill--
A slice of classic high fantasy wrapped up with an inkling of what's to come in the original series. Makes me curious!

This went from good to great and I have a suspicion as to who is involved in the killings and hope I'm not right ...

I'm eating this up.

Read the first story and I think I will have to spread them out, read one every now and then, or I will lose interest. But that's the good thing about a collection, I just can pick it up again :)
Strawberry was a good story though.

So far, so good. Our main character is a bit shitty but still in a relatable kind of way. Really intriguing world.

That this guy doesn't have a personality besides being extremely helpful around the house and being nice ... somehow makes me extremely uncomfortable. Is this a reverse trad-wife thing?
