I realised I don’t read a lot of books where they are fun and exciting. I’ve read a lot of books I consider 5 stars, but they may be hard, tiring, sad.
So I thought maybe I need to go into fantasy, something that cna be relaxing in atmosphere, fun and magical, and gripping.
Im thinking of a ready player one type of excitement. But if you say “try just sci fi”, your missing it.
So yeah, I bought some books.

Seeing how I seem to connect in some way to Matheson’s writing unlike any other, he might be my favourite author.

Can’t really count the people I’ve only read one book of though. James Clavell up there but that might be just the stories grabbing me. Stephen King too for his writing, not always his stories though.

Just really crazy how accurate some stuff is. I overthink some things such as the ‘being unselfish’ topic, and it sounds so weird that I think am just making it so complicated and it doesn’t really exist.
It tackles things that I think wpuld affect everyone, and catches me by surprise so much. I really gotta think about being less unselfish, which sounds crazy, but this book explains it.

Having fun, maybe also cause im enjoying using a kindle again

Wow, Chapter 21, what an amazing chapter.

This is the ultimate self help book I think, with so many lessons to reflect on but written in a fictionalised way with sparks your enthusiasm to read

The knowledge within the letters feel so unique and unworldy that I genuinely feel I am reading the letters of a demon.

I’m not starting this yet, just excited to say I got Tai-Pan and Noble House.

The Noble House cover was different from what I ordered, but it’s better ☺️

Pretty good book so far, no complaints really

I have a bunch of books ive started, ones I haven’t added as reading. So I’m gonna make sure I finish all those and basically have zero left

Spoke way too soon cause the main character said something uncomfortable which according to google, they were 70s tropes, which is uncomfortably stupid. I can’t remember if King does it in this exact way.

There’s a feeling you get when you come across a good writer, and you just say “Please, please… please be as good as I hope.”

Prologue and first chapter absolutely spectacular. I get annoyed how simple it looks, but they aren’t all like this, and the styles are all different.
This feels like Richard Matheson, and I had an odd premonition it would, I hope it continues to be so.

Genuinely not scary compared to others, really disappointed. Not even that im bored, just there is some clear issues with this book. My review will have minor spoilers.

Some good parts but I’m getting bored

I’ve heard about Ursula K. Le Guin, been waiting to read her. I hope she becomes a favourite, so far she’s exceeding expectations.

Please, please move on from the poo

I’m enjoying it but it feels like something is missing.
Hopefully the second half can fix that somehow. I thinks it’s some sort of connection to the characters for me.

Out of the Bachman books, I think this is most my style

It’s good, I don’t think I’m loving it as much as Johnny did, but it’s good.

Past week ive been so busy, so I did not get to read much. I’m back.

Weirdly comforting

Stephen King writes so well, it just flows, really unlike any other author I’ve read. Today I read a lot with ease, he just holds you and you have not idea why.

Other authors can outshine, but a lot of the time it will take effort to read. There will be times when I need to pause and think about what they are trying to say. King’s books feel very real, the way he writes, the stories — they just flow together.

Watched a reel and yep I’m ready to read this.
Crazy how one suggestion can completely change what you feel like reading.

Good, very different to what I expected. A bit of it was quite confusing and not much fun. It’s not really fair play, you just follow the investigation and focus on one thing in particular.

This is feeling similar to I am legend, and if it is, I’ll be very happy

I saw a review, and am worried I won’t be able to enjoy Poirot as much after this. Hopefully I can enjoy both

Really enjoying the fact that theres a long set-up, so as to learn the characters. Other books can go too fast into it, and you kind of forget quickly about the book. Those ones can be amazing, but if you’re able to incorporate the mystery within the set up of jusy getting to know the characters, that can make a story much more memorable.

Poirot would maybe suspect me, but I genuinely think I am enjoying this book more because of the font, boldness, sizing, and line width. It’s simply elegant and beautiful.

Unfortunately this is getting boring

Feel like this definitely could have been good

But a lot of repetitive things, too fast in the interesting moments and too slow in the boring moments.

Such an amazing book. James Clavell is a masterful writer, im not sure if I love it just cause it is historical fiction, but I think it has to be him. He makes the world feel so real, I really wish there were another 1000 pages

I will not finish this book until I have solved this myself

Amazing

I might have to learn Japanese fully to read her other works

Have about 60 pages left, so it’s time I stop and study my extensive notes for this case.
