I'm not the biggest fan of Lift, and I'm already kinda annoyed tbh. Maybe I'll grow to love her? Even the interlude in book 2 had me feeling this way so far I'm a little disappointed that I have to read a whole (short) book about her.

Ok. I know what I literally JUST said about Sanderson, but I did not like the narrator for Isles of the Emberdark so I'm going to just wait for a physical copy and while I wait, this book came in! And I will get back to Stormlight Archives eventually... So yes. I'm reading a different Sanderson book while I wait for a Sanderson book, which I'm reading in between Sanderson books. BUT ITS NOT MY FAULT.

Ok before anyone says anything: I'm not a Sanderson fan girl or anything, but all my holds that are coming up are all him for whatever reason lol

Alright, this book is pretty dang funny. I've scoffed so many times.

Ok I get that she's not trained or anything, but even so, how is this main character SO stupid if she's a PI?? I know it's unfair because as a reader I know things that are being mentioned are likely to be relevant, but still. She is just not picking up on anything and not subtle or clever at all.

Ok, I do really want to read a funny book, so let's try it again

Ok I googled "funny books" because I wanted a pallet cleanser. The reviews were positive, and one said "I went in knowing nothing, and I think you should too"
So I thought "what the heck!" And dove in.

This is a SCARY book! What the heck! But I'm super intrigued so now I guess I just have to be scared. Ugh.

Why is every single chapter exactly like this:

Xaden stands there, the most breathtaking man in the room. All I want to do is kiss him and feel his rough, calloused hands on me. I know he can't, because he's cursed, but there's nothing that will keep him from me.
Suddenly a secret dragon thing happened.
And Xaden was ready. I want him in my bed. His stormy eyes meet mine and he tilts his chiseled jaw at me. I quake.

Yrene wtf. Why would you let yourself get pregnant while you sail off to serve in a literal war 🙄🙄🙄 this just feels like a set up for the kid to lose on or both parents in a dramatic "heart wrenching" scene

First time this series has made me tear up. Florine is the best side character in the series so far.

SOMEONE read this book. It's dark and magical. It's got mystery, conspiracy, murder and I'm HOOKED and I need someone to talk about it with!! I need more fantasy friends.
