And it’s done. Not gonna lie I loved btc. This one I enjoyed. Some parts weren’t my fav but overall I enjoyed this story.

Not that bad. Took a minute to grow on me. At the point where i’d actually like to finish it.

I’m mixed about this one, a few reasons but I won’t get into that right at this moment.

Finished in 2 days; that’s horrible.

Really like the diary first person pov. Even tho it’s a lot of “thoughts/thinking” detail; the main character some what reminds me of myself. Over analyzing everything, rethinking. Also even tho the author isn’t a woman he does very well not getting muddy in details like “I flipped my hair to the right shoulder” crap.

“Kate Mccray grew up in Columbia, MD” Can never escape md I see lol. Coming from one of the main characters diary she did say Columbia I just thought somewhere else. Been watching a lot of X-Files again and you can’t help but get the crawlies when Mulder and Scully come back to wherever in the DMV (literally) after a random ass case. That’s instantly what that line did unfortunately.

I will be back to read this! I obviously bought the book; so when I get it back i’ll really deep dive and annotate.

This has turned into my favorite series i’ve found since picking reading back up. After ‘Lapvona’ I couldn’t stop thinking what could top that. It’s a page turner. Now it did take me weeks to finally start it (blame piranesi)(3/14 due date at library) but can’t put it down for the last 2 days. It’s such a cohesive fiction on abduction cases, and the different theories only the human mind can conjure.

Piranesi is obviously trapped in this “dimension”/“house”. He is obviously a man of modern time. He obviously has forgotten all the reason of how and why he is there. Everyone talks in riddles to him continually trapping him. This is a frightening idea. Being so content in a place that gives you beauty but minimal shelter like a actual home or the food we eat everyday; him mainly living off forged seafood.

Don’t remember much, have to finish very soon; soo that’ll be happening!

I don’t really know what’s happening but the descriptions and mystery is keeping me going. Unfortunately I have to finish this sooner than I would like to and haven’t had time to try to divulge and pay attention what’s really happening underneath; except that ‘The Other’ obviously can’t be trusted because bro if it’s only us stuck in this big ass house you need to be more honest. lol

Wasn’t keeping track. Trying to recall i’ve probably opened to read 3 times. Really do like the nonsensical random details from our narrator. The fact they can’t remember when they arrived or found the “house”. The fact that the “house” it’s own little (big) world, it’s own ecosystem blows my mind. Definitely excited to keep reading. A lil rushed because I only have 2 weeks, freaking mcnaughton.

I’m unfortunately seeing that Paul Tremblay has a repetitive habit of over describing. This’ll probably be the last book i’m reading of his for a long while. Since it was withdrawn awhile ago i’ll see if I keep or donate. So far the ending of the chapter where Majorie was about to excitingly tell Merry; she woke up to her posters being arranged into a face did give me the chills lol.

Most times every little aspect of our environment shapes us. It depends on us how we use it when we grow older. That can also make us very sheltered of the mind.

For Black History Month I really wanted to do a black author that I loved (the idea of) as a kid (I couldn’t understand with me being super young). Toni Morrison did come to mind but I couldn’t decide exactly what book. Maybe Beloved, then I thought maybe Terry McMillan. But luckily this fell on my lap by a co-worker. It’s not the right book we talked about but it’s better than I expected.

It’s so hard to put this book down! I’m flying through chapters faster than I thought. The story is definitely something i’ve been looking for, for a while. Continuing on if I still feel the same it might be a buy.
