Did not finish

Removing from shelf. I LOVED the work, but this book was making me to angry and anxious. I will finish it at a later date.

Audiobook: struggled to stick with it, but honestly loved how the plot wrapped up. I didn’t enjoy the book until it was finished! Meryl Streep as the narrator was 100/100

Enjoying the inspiration and practical advice— it is abundantly clear the author did not have children (which I googled to confirm) because his analogies involving how the artist should work wouldn’t be doable unless someone wasn’t a parent OR was a terrible parent.

How have I never read this? Loved

I enjoyed the writing style of this book immensely and appreciated the immense detail of how trauma affects entire families— but the ending absolutely ruined it and I don’t think I’d recommend it to others. The ending details weren’t“just sad” (sad endings are a favorite ) it was absolutely hopeless and graphic. Anything would’ve been better.
