Spooky book number 2 - hoping for actual ghosts this time!

In an awful reading slump post holiday - hope this book (short chapters, predictable) gets me out of it!

I’m impressed that this book is actually funny! First book of Kindle Unlimited for now…

Ian McEwan remains an absolutely hilarious author, as well as an author with exceptional characterisation.

Rest assured, the book is less funny now…

Really enjoying how heartfelt this book is!

Really enjoying this collection of short stories but I fancy a longer book, so switching it up for a bit.

I stopped reading ‘Equal Rites’ because of some formatting issues in my version of the book which made reading difficult

I decided to read ‘The Last Enemy’, Harry Potter fan fiction. I chose this one because it strives to be canon compliant, so it doesn’t jar with the books.

I’m enjoying the book so far - it captures the cosy vibe of the original novels but the characters swear! Good but odd so far…

Picking this book up and now then and finding it useful! Main things I’ve got from it is:

1. Log EVERYTHING in a to-do list app to get it out of your head

2. Be proactive with organising WHEN you’ll do things in advance.

I feel like I’m using my todo list app more, and feel calmer for it!

Back to reading this tome after everything got busy 😁

So far, I’m not loving this book. Whilst I’m enjoying the plot and guessing what will happen, the writing is off! All of the characters speak like young teenagers. It’s fine in the flashbacks but not eleven years after-the-fact!

Loving the throwbacks to the first trilogy so far - lots of characters re-appear!

I’m enjoying this book but most chapters end in a cliffhanger! It’s annoying. Good story though.
