I’m enjoying this book! From what I’ve read, it is a retelling of Chinese History. This book discusses the fictional tactician Sunzi executing two concubines who did not follow orders - which I’ve now Googled and this is a story attributed to Sun Tzu (of Art of War fame). Interesting!

It's on my TBR! Ive heard it's quite gruesome and heartbreaking to the point of being cruel... I'll keep an eye on your updates!

It’s actually incredible, Rachel! It’s definitely darker than I thought (and I heard dark things already…). The protagonist is amazing and the discussions on religion, power etc are fab. I literally had to put the book down and think on the bus 😂. It’s marked as YA, and I do think it’s Young Adult - not necessarily for teens..! It’s deep!
