I stopped reading ‘Equal Rites’ because of some formatting issues in my version of the book which made reading difficult
I decided to read ‘The Last Enemy’, Harry Potter fan fiction. I chose this one because it strives to be canon compliant, so it doesn’t jar with the books.
I’m enjoying the book so far - it captures the cosy vibe of the original novels but the characters swear! Good but odd so far…

I normally don’t mind swearing, but its inclusion makes it clear these novels aren’t written by the original author. I suppose it carries in the trend of the books being more mature after each publication, but it does jar with the vibe of the original novels…
