Ah okay, ich verstehe...

Find das Hinterfragen der Gründe für den Kreuzzug echt gut (wenn auch ein wenig unauthentisch für die Epoche). Diese Frage ob man den Lehren Gottes folgen sollte (liebe deinen Nächsten etc.) oder der Kirche (dem Papst der zum Kreuzzug aufgerufen etc.) hatte ich so nicht erwartet aber find ich super.

Gefällt mir bisher echt gut! Ich find es gut wie Jaufré endlich eine engere Beziehung mit seiner Tochter aufbaut und man merkt förmlich wie das den beiden gut tut.

Irgendwie komm ich mit der Erzählweise nicht so klar. Also die Einteilung der Kapitel und so. Und obwohl ich schon recherchiert habe, verwirren mich die ganzen Figuren und ihren Verbindungen leider immer noch.

Also I'm getting really tired of how often Henry is mentioned to be absolutely disgusting. I get it!!! He was old and ill and unattractive at that point but it's really overkill to constantly mention his weight and his injury and how disgusting that makes him.

Yeaaah so not only is Gregory once again changing her narrative, Katherine Howard is portrayed as even more stupid in this book 🙄

Katherine Howard's naïveté is once again verging on stupidity. Girl, you are married to a man who is publicly known for treating his previous wives absolutely horribly. Who is literally beheading people left and right. Why are risking it all for some random dude?? Use your brain!!!

Why does it feel like this book portrays things differently than in "The Other Boleyn Girl"? I know the books were written like 20 years apart but even the different main characters and therefore povs don't explain why events happen differently in both books...

I thought this book would be about Margaret Tudor, her sister Mary, and Catherine of Aragon. But so for it's really only been about Margaret being envious of the other two.
