Completed Book 5 - 'The Fortune'

Hard to believe I'm about to start the final chapter of the Caskey family saga. It's hard to call it an outright horror, but easy to call it as - so far - one of my favourite books. I don't think I'm ready to say goodbye.

Completed Book 4 - 'The War'

Just broke my heart a little. Although, not as much as knowing I've only got two books left until the end.

Completed Book 3 - 'The House'

Half way through and still adoring this. The horror elements are sporadic and even then rarely intense, but the family dynamics and the slow unfurling of the decades through the story are sublime.

Completed Book 2 - 'The Levee'

Starting to get a real handle on what this is. Currently feels like small town, historical Gothic horror meets Steinbeck family drama. Which frankly feels absolutely tailor made for me.

Completed Book 1 - 'The Flood'

Engrossing first section, characterisation is really strong and the story grabbed hold of me and wouldn't let go. Looking forward to continuing with the second book soon
