I'm intrigued by the plot and characters, but I'm finding it very boring, not sure I'll be able to go on if things don't pick up. Feels very bland.

First one, 'Meet Me in Mayfair' by Tessa Dare, I had to suspend my disbelief too much in order to enjoy it.
Second one, 'The Duke of Christmas Present ' by Sarah MacLean, was incredibly repetitive. I felt like I was reading the same conversation and/or inner dialogue over and over again.
Third one, 'Heiress Alone' by Sophie Jordan, I stopped reading after she woke up unconcerned and naked in bed with the duke after

I've honestly lost interest at this point. I'm going to pause it and probably get back to it after the holidays.

Not loving it. I feel like this shouldn't be advertised as the first book of a new series, but a continuation of a preexisting one. There were so many characters that I felt like I was supposed to know but was just given short explanations of who they were, and it was really confusing and didn't really add much to the plot. The author should've either not given much importance to them or made this a book in a preexis

There have been bits that I've enjoyed, but the truth is it's quite boring and I'm struggling to keep reading. About 80-90% of the book is nothing but musings. Very little actually happens. They could've cut out almost all the musings from the book and if would've been a nice little novella.

Very bored. I haven't become interested in the story, particularly the whole sideplot involving the spying and everything, and I haven't felt any kind of connection to the characters nor have I felt any chemistry between them. I'm going to continue reading it because it isn't terrible and I'm already almost 40% in, but I suspect it won't get much better for me.

I was obviously expecting a lot of sex in this book given the premise, but I wasn't expecting it to be this boring. It's not the sex per se that is boring, but the lack of emotion and excitement in the book. I feel like I've just been flicking through the pages, skimming a whole lot of it, just waiting for something to catch my interest in the story, and so far I haven't found anything.

So far, boring. I don't know how many times I've read, in just this small 20%, about the Hero's sad family story and the heroine's unhappy marriage. Seriously, I feel like that's all I've read, repeatedly. Oh, and a kiss. Which felt awkward and out of place.

I'm barely 8% in and already this book has started to bug me. First of all, why in the hell would the Hero have to take off his shirt to wrap a wound?! Didn't they wear cravats at the time?! Just a lame excuse to take off his shirt. Also, they've just met and he's already decided he wants to marry her? This book has dnf written all over it for me.

Honestly, this story is weak, shallow and ridiculous. Why are these two vampires so obsessed with this woman? And that's basically what the whole story is about, at least so far.

Ok... So, I'm barely 15% in, and the main characters have just met and already they've jumped into bed together. I just know this isn't going to satisfy my need for romance. I hardly doubt I'll, at any point, be convinced that this is a love story. I'm still mildly intrigued though, so I'm carrying on with the story to see what happens, for now.

I'm liking the plot and the setting very much. Certainly different from everything else I've read recently. And I also like the characters, but there's something there that isn't letting me fully enjoy the story. I think it might be that I haven't yet truly related to either of the characters. I haven't really felt much excitement or angst. The story just seems to drift by. Which is weird considering the plot.

Scratch that previous bit. The 'romance' is getting ridiculous and so annoying. She supposedly hates him. He killed her brother! She's set on proving he's guilty of murder, BUT she lets him kiss her every time he damn well pleases! And actually kisses him back! And he just can't resist doing it. So icky, so ridiculous, so cringe worthy! Not liking it at all.

So far it's okay. Not great, but entertaining enough. Honestly, what's mostly been keeping me going is the mystery surrounding Stephen's death. The romance I think has been strongly lacking. I can't say much about Garrick yet, but I don't like Merryn very much. I find her kind of annoying.

I'm now 25% in and it hasn't gotten much better. I like the plot, but the way it's written y simply boring the life out of me. Every time I pick it up I literally start yawning. I think I'm going to start something else, give it a rest, and then maybe come back to this one.

I'm beginning to think that Meredith Duran might just not be an author for me. I loved how the book started, but it quickly went downhill, and now, at barely 15%, I'm doubting wether I should continue or not. The H/h were just kissing and I honestly couldn't care less. Something just doesn't feel right to me and I'm not feeling drawn to the story.

Oh, and also, although the writing is good, it's very confusing sometimes. I've had to go back several times to make sure I'm on the right page, and I even once reread a single page three times before realizing we were now on a different time lapse and had gone to the past. This could manages a lot better imo.

So far I'm rather bored tbh. I'm intrigued by the plot and story, which is why I've kept on reading. I'm waiting for it to get good. But I'm not feeling the love in the story. It feels very bland and unemotional - which translates as boring to me I guess. I really hope it gets better.

So, this was going pretty good. Engaging story-line, interesting characters, good writing, BUT (and this is a big but - hence the capital letters) the heroine has become one of the worst types of heroines you can find in a romance book: The 'I hate you so much, but please don't stop touching me' kind of heroine. It's a disappointment really, because I'm really liking the plot. I hope I can get past this and finish it

Not feeling drwan into the story. Most of the time, I've had no idea what the hell is going on. I'm not sure of its her writing that confuses me, the storyline that seems to move out of track, or my mind that gets distracted, but I'm not really enjoying this...

This is gradually going downhill for me. Its credibility has stretched beyond my limits. What year is it supposed to be?! I don't think even the author knows for sure. Am I supposed to believe that a man can just walk into a lady's bedroom to wake her up?! Or that when she's feeling upset he would pull her into his lap and comfort her, and she would just go with it?! Their relationship is all over the place, and not

Oh, and I almost forgot... I also find it creepy and repulsive when the author writes 'as if they were siblings' when the H kisses the h... I mean, what?!?! My guess is the author doesn't have any siblings, because who would say that and use that comparison?!?! They're horny! He has a boner for Christ's sake! I get what she's trying to say, but it creeps me out!

I'm definitely enjoying this book much more than the previous ones I've read by Eloisa James. It's light, it's humorous and it's fun. My only concern so far is that I feel the characters are sometimes out of character... Does that make sense?
