I was not expecting this book to be this good. I’ve teared up at least 3 times already…

‘At our age people usually come peer-reviewed.’ Is the nerdiest and also most delightful sentence ever written.

I don’t trust Mark farther than I can throw him…

‘Oh, we wouldn’t have believed it, and you never got the chance to find out, but Charlie, Charlie, it feels so good to grow up.’ 😭😭😭

“The thing is, however, I’m far from certain that Literature and Languages will be hiring another Classics teacher. There is so little interest in the subject, and the general consensus seems to be that it should be phased out, especially now that we’re attempting to get the new Semiotics department off the ground.”

Replace Semiotics with AI and this could have been uttered today…

it would seem that the fuss is about vibes…

Let’s see what all the fuss is about

Could it be? An actually decent You’ve Got Mail adaptation?! And it’s a historical?

I fear the wolf den trilogy has book slumped me. I’ve been looking forward to this for months. And I just don’t care about either of them 😩

I lowkey love Pliny, he’s so relatable. He just wants to read. And everything else is just getting in the way.

I smelling a Brittanica + Victoria romance, but maybe that’s just wishful thinking 😂

This one is already moving much faster!

I’m nearly at the 50% mark and there is not much plot to be discerned yet. But I’m not totally mad at it…

These books from the 90s are a trip. I’m not expecting them to be politically correct but the combination of racist turns of phrase and misogynistic men alongside queer advocacy and AIDS activism is dizzying. Not to mention; there is on page CSA, r*pe, and a coked out drunk driving football player who killed both him and his 18 year old woman passenger all within the first 10%. 😱

The MMC in this book is almost exactly like the MMC in the last book I finished. They are both Henry Cavil coded New Yorkers who wear peacoats.

This book has me crying in a coffee shop and I’m not even halfway through!

I wanted to try SEP because people compare her to Crusie but this feels dated/problematic in a way that Crusie’s books never do.

True slow burn friends to lovers…. It’s also clearly a debut but I’m diggin it.

Love a grumpy brooder, hate a love triangle, we’ll see how this goes…
