The Martial Empire fractures under a Karkaun siege while Helene Aquilla (the Blood Shrike) struggles to manage an unstable Emperor Marcus and the Commandant’s treachery. Laia searches for ways to stop the Nightbringer, and Elias struggles as the new, humanity-losing Soul Catcher in the Waiting Place. After Shaeva, the previous soul catcher, is killed by the Nightbringer.

Elias became the Soul Catcher who helps souls onto the next life after they pass. He became the Soul Catcher after he technically died. Once he was back alive, he went back to his body and broke out of Kauf and helped everyone else who broke out with him hide in the Waiting Place. in betweenlife and death. After he got everyone there, he told Laia about how he got his powers and that he can't leave.

Elias made it into Kauf Prison to break Laia's brother out, but was caught and is now stuck in there. Laia and Keenan went to the prison too, but they stayed outside the prison. Keenan turned out to be an ancient Djinn and has been pulling the strings on the comidant and the warden of Kauf Prison. Laia managed to get messages to Elias, and they are planning a prison escape.

After the end of the first book, the two main characters escape from black cliff and are on the run. Elias has to fight his mother, the comodant, and she poisons him with an incurable poison. Laia thinks of a way to lessen the effects of the poison but not cure it. To get the tellis extract (semi-cure), she has to go to Raider's Roost, be caught by a bounty hunter, and lead them back to Elias.

Finished the book, it was really good. Thanks for the recommendation. It ended with Laia stopping Elias from being executed and running away with him. They are going to go to Kauf Prison to break Laia's brother out so he isn't tortured to death. Before his execution, he lost the final trial to become emperor. His most hated ally won to become emperor, and his best friend won to become the emperor's right-hand woman.

Laia infiltrated Blackcliff to get information for the resistance, who are going to try to rescue her brother. Elias went through the first two trials to potentially become emperor. Elias' friend Helene was ambushed on the first trial, and Elias had to save her so she didn't die. A little while later, the second trial started, and they are in the middle of it. They are running from spectral enemies.

The two main characters (Laia&Elias) & their friends & families. As of right now, they are on opposite sides of an empire & a resistance, but Elias is thinking of defecting. Before he could defect, he was selected to take the trials to possibly become the next emperor. Laia is having a hard time after here grand parents are killed & her brother is arrested. She looks for the resistance to possibly rescue her brother.

I ran out of characters, and I wanted to add that this book was very boring, but just for YOU, I bit my tongue and read it. It was kind of interesting being able to read and learn his story from his perspective, but I think I'm going to stick to my fiction books. Rather, it be a graphic novel all the way to a romance novel (and I don't like romance novels), I am going to avoid non-fiction like the plague.

It’s not only Em who is upset by Olivia’s increased violence. Other members of the Ruined army are beginning to see the cracks, and soon a small group of them defects from Olivia’s army and joins Em instead. The two sisters are soon pitted against each other in an epic battle for the kingdom and the future, and only one will win. In the end, it was Em who won at the expense of her sister's life.

Emelina Flores has come home to Ruina. After rescuing her sister, Olivia, from imprisonment in the rival kingdom of Lera, Em and Olivia vow to rebuild Ruina to its former glory. But just because Em and Olivia are out of Lera doesn’t mean they are safe. Their actions over the past year have had consequences, and they are now targets of retaliation. Olivia will destroy everyone who acts against Ruina. Em isn’t as sure.

I read too much to fit into 420 characters, but I finished it it ended with the protagonist rescuing her younger sister from her husband's evil parents. She planned an attack on the castle, leading to her husband's dad dieing and then later her husband's mom was killed by the protagonist's sister using her magic to tear her heart out of her chest. That is a very poor summary of the end of the book, but I loved it.

Emelina Flores, a survivor from the destroyed kingdom of Ruina, infiltrates the enemy kingdom of Lera by posing as a princess to marry Prince Casimir. Driven by revenge for her murdered parents and kidnapped sister, she plans to destroy the royal family, but finds herself falling for the prince, complicating her mission.

Due to illness, Hinata leaves the court, and Karasuno High School Volleyball Club faces their decisive match against Kamomedai without their key player. Hinata is sent back to the hotel they are staying in, and on the way back, he watches the end of his game and sees Karasuno lose to Kamomedai. This is the end of the series, while all the main characters are high schoolers and continue with a couple year time skip.

In the most grueling match of the Spring High School Tournament's third day, the fateful final set begins. Even after losing the second set to Karasuno, Kamomedai's blockers remain unshaken with their strong mental fortitude. Hinata continues to search for a way to overcome the wall of blockers, struggling and persevering despite his small stature, to end up with a fever and be removed from the game.

Karasuno fights valiantly against Inarizaki, the "strongest challenger". They break the deadlock and gain a set point in the first set, but Tanaka, who is not performing well, becomes the target. Faced with Suna's increasingly powerful blocks and growing frustration, Tanaka finds himself in an unprecedented predicament. Tanaka gets his footing after a hype up and Karasuno wins the first set.

During a practice match against Date Tech, Kageyama and Hinata try to change despite the awkwardness. Even though it was difficult, they figured out their problems, fixed them, and managed to tie 4-4 overall through eight sets. And then the new year begins, and the Spring High School Volleyball National Tournament begins. Karasuno's Boys Volleyball team goes to Tokyo to compete in the Nationals.

With their ace defenseman, Yaku, injured, Nekoma High School finds themselves in a difficult position. While Tobi Academy relentlessly targets the "hole" in their defense left by Yaku's absence, captain Kuroo shows his determination, believing they have a chance of winning. The "Cat" wins back-to-back sets against the "Snake" and gets the last spot to represent Tokyo.

The fourth set of the prefectural representative final is tense. Karasuno is desperate, but following in Tsukishima's footsteps, Hinata also shows impressive defensive skills, fiercely competing against Shiratorizawa's fierce attack. However, Kageyama's performance is slowing down. Both teams seem to be running low on energy, and Tsukishima has to go to the infirmary to get his finger relocated and taped.

Aoba Johsai reaches match point in the third set of the semifinals of the prefectural representative tournament. With a single point meaning the match is over, Karasuno musters everything they have in this final battle. The fateful match against Aoba Johsai finally comes to a conclusion. With Karasuno just barely winning by a single point.

Karasuno High School has made it through the first round of the Spring High School Volleyball Tournament preliminaries and advanced to the representative selection match. Their first-round opponent is Jozenji High School, a festival team whose motto is "play!" Hinata and his team struggle against their opponents, who adapt to the situation and use unconventional attacks.

Hinata boldly declares that he won’t close his eyes for the freak quick anymore, but Kageyama isn’t having any of it. The two of them fight, setting the entire team back in the practice game. Now, having come face-to-face with how much better all the Tokyo teams are than them, Karasuno will either step up their game and evolve into a new team or crumble under the pressure.

Hinata and Kageyama take on an intra-club 3-on-3 match. To beat Tsukishima's height, they seek a chance to win by teaming up with a quick attack. Kageyama tosses the ball at the perfect time to make the most of Hinata's abilities. When the two combine their powers, a great duo is born! When timed right they can perform a perfect quick set but their's has a twist Kagayama hits it to Hinata's hand instead of up.

Senku sets sail with a select group of members to explore the secrets of petrification and save humanity. Their first destination is Treasure Island, where a divine item is said to lie hidden. The item is platinum, which he says he can make unlimited revival fluid with.

Senku sends Kohaku to infiltrate the harem and obtain the head's petrifying weapon. To use science to transform her into a beautiful girl, his group attempts to reclaim the laboratory from inside the ship.

Following Hyotsuki's betrayal, Senku and Tsukasa decide to join forces. Meanwhile, Senku and his friends plan to venture out into the world to uncover the mystery of the petrification phenomenon. To set sail on the open sea, they need a ship and a captain. They make a hot air balloon to look for an oil field so thay can make a motor for their boat they are building.

The battle between the Kingdom of Science and the Tsukasa Empire reaches its showdown. Senku and his friends unite to compete for the miraculous cave. The outcome of the battle hinges on a surprise attack that lasts just 20 seconds. With Senku winning the battle with dynamite and reviving Tsukasa's little sister. Tsukasa's 2nd command tries to kill Tsukasa's sister, but Tsukasa steps in the way at the last second.
