This book is not very fun to read.

Anyway. I love the setup for this.

Idk if this is the popular standpoint, but it's pretty lame to introduce a character just to immediately kill them off.

The circumstances don't make it make more sense, either. Why is this one guy a worthy sacrifice? We know nothing about him. It's not a sacrifice if it doesn't hurt.

This book is very hard to start reading and very hard to stop.

I really love the way they're building this up. The art is perfect even when it's awful.

This is undeniably grim, but I do think reviews have overhyped how gruesome and horrifying it is.

So far it's mostly setup and backstory, but it's already deeply fucked up.

Vera simply can *not* catch a break.

I'm really enjoying this. I feel like the main character needs one good shake to get her shit together, though.
