Been listening to this for the past week a little here & there. Oh boy, to be born into the family after these brothers choices would feel like a curse.

I have only read the forward & introduction. I am already enamored. I really love what Toni says about “the problem” critics had with her former book & other black writers.

Before 20% I was intrigued. 40% I laughed a lot but was losing interest. 60% I thought by now I would’ve DNF’d but I still haven’t.

I’m starting to think that Cathy almost acts as a mirror to the men around her & that’s why most of them, besides Adam, can’t handle being in her presence. I know Cathy ain’t a saint but it’s interesting to read everyone’s convictions.

I have a feeling this book is gonna hurt my feelings.

You know, if I wasn’t in the mood for this, I might e DNF’d but It’s been fun to slow down & read the different eras.

Lucy is just too sweet…Brian is trying his hardest…a new start in a remote house the last family seemingly fled from….what could happen? 🤪

Very easy to listen to o & very fun while being heartfelt.

I really liked the second story. It reminded me of how we treat each other at the present time 😑

The first story is similar to I Who Have Never Known Men. War causing uselessness & the people to find what’s left of their humanity.

Just wondering where this is gonna go & how it’s gonna end now…

“Daddio” is driving me crazy. Not as scary as everyone is saying, so far at least.

Other Mommy trailer before The Odyssey hit hard 😅 I’ve known of this book since it came out but just never got around to buying it. Heard the audio was on the child POV, so I thought it would be fun to listen too.

Wow, David 😅 I feel like I’m watching a movie but I am definitely feeling a little sick.

I’m surprised how much the movie diverted from the book BUT I vitally like those changes more.

I read the preview of this & I couldn’t fight the strong lure to finish this. I knew I had to listen to the audio for the full effect. It’s already so good.

I made it to part 2 & my GOD Cathy, Adam & Charles…

Two of me predictions were right. I really like how this book addresses how healthcare for women wasn’t just nonexistent, but also detrimental, at times on purpose.

How can I go back in time & save Lulu??
