Story is kind of predictable and boring

So many “Character vs.” going on and we’re only in book 2.

I was REALLY liking this series until the end of book 2. So disappointing. Ill continue reading once book 4 is out

Common sense is not so common in this series. The characters are a little bit cringey too.

I can’t finish it. I want to throw up at how “woe it’s me…. Let me hug this complete stranger to calm him down from being upset that someone hurt me… oh no you don’t have to pay for my car, and give me a place to stay, and carry me around everywhere”

Cool FMC but the men are cringe. Imagine a college woman dating men with the personality of 9th grade boys.

IDK how to explain it but I need more RH books like the “The Bonds That Tie” series by J. Bree. Dominant men of different personalities who prefer alone time with the FMC but don’t mind the occasional threesome. The RH genre is starting to feel like degradation disguised as worship when the FMC’s are really just getting 🚂 😭

I normally shy away from reading too many books at once but this has been fun lmao

Very wordy, I find myself jumping around a bit. Lots of time spent in the characters heads, overthinking, heavily explaining. Needs some restructuring and a better way to introduce world building information but I like the characters.

It's nice to have a FMC who's soft and feminine versus the normal tough girl, 'don't underestimate me' persona.

Ch. 6 - uh oh, here comes the "best friend who gets the same treatment" bs. So over it. The storyline was already getting difficult to read, so im dnf right here... ugh

Ughh I’m in a book drought, movie drought, tv-show drought, interest drought! I’m just so damn drought-ed 🙃 (Go watch Sinners though, it was great!)

Idk if it’s because of her crazy trauma or if it’s because she doesn’t have enough common sense😀 but this girl is the dumbest FMC on and off planet. She’s so frustrating and the author tries to write her in a “quirky” way. She’s constantly putting everyone around her in danger and then endangering herself because she’s useless. This series was compared to Sanctuary but Avery would never…

Favorite FMC hands down.

Not finishing… Im sorry but the story is so dramatic and rushed. It’s also like the author was trying to put a variety of different relationships into the story to make it interesting but only succeeded in making me uncomfortable.

I’m going to give another of this author’s books a try but so far I don’t think her books are for me.

It's hard to like her right now. She's been through a lot and I don't have the same expectations for her that I would have for an adult, but she's doing nothing but being pregnant and loud.

She tried for a minute to do better when he cut her off but she's back to the drama... I'm saying all this but i'll probably like her again in a few chapters smh

Why is it that when characters in books get bored, they decide to go clubbing or out to eat? Why can't they do activities: pottery, escape rooms, learn to play an instrument, swimming for fun and not to be seen, got to a museum. Why can't they just do normal stuff?

This is the first book I've read that has me reading with a heavy heart. Her disclaimer was well warranted but I was still caught off guard and had to take breaks to continue reading.

Feeling: Confused & Like I might DNF

Things have been confusing since page 30, Chapter 4. Chapter 4 is a 48 hour time frame:
1. Dutchess and Decent meet that morning. He spends the night, sleeping on the couch
2. She gets off of work the NEXT day and he invites her to HIS house
3. Dutchess is being real jealous?? & talking about how he ALWAYS sleeps in her room??

Always? When? Y’all just met, right?

Kidnapped by your cheating/abusive husband's enemy where they treated you like a dog and forced you to eat dog food and used you as a URINAL? And she STAYED with this man after the fact?????? Them marriage vows not THAT strong...

Okay I finished it💀 this little season one had me stressing but after reading a few chapters of season two, I concur I was quick to judge 😂

I need a break! I love these characters but the cheating man🙁 It bothers me that they claim to love their significant others so much but have cheated twice so far.

Family and friends not supporting you due to their own selfish reasons is a huge red flag for me. You can still disagree with someone but let them know you'll love them no matter what. Instead they jumped down her throat about a decision that would change the rest of her life. It was her decision in the end but the lack of support DEFINITELY played a part.
