starts off very slowly, picks up once more of the plot happens for lack of a better word. very happy to have our not-friend back and to see where this all goes

as you could probably assume, this is NOT a good beach read!

going to weird places but i like it. it’s been a long time since i read a book as Weird as this one

i don’t understand the rules of this world or the main character and that’s okay because i’m enjoying it again

prose is still amazing but i’m quite irritated with the plot twist that closed part 2, i think we’re going off the rails

absolutely gorgeous prose, by far the most underlining and annotating i’ve done for a contemporary fiction book in years.

some of the characterization is starting to PMO but that’s probably on purpose
