Wow it’s easy to fly through audiobooks!

I’m pretty sure it’s the authors favorite thing to harp on “density fluctuations.” Maybe that’ll be my new favorite thing to. Density fluctuation… *sigh* *eye roll* 🙄

I love that in this book about the Big Bang with all this technical jargon and complicated concepts, the author felt the need to give examples of what spheres are:
“Imagine we lived in a 2-D world on the surface of a 3-D sphere (e.g., a ball, a soap bubble, or a balloon.”

Now that Spotify premium has these for free, I will in fact be rereading/listening to the whole series again.

If church fellowship is approaching God together, then surely prayer fellowship is also approaching God together in common faith. Does Jesus differentiate fellowship? Why then should we? WELS differentiates between praying with someone with weak faith and someone who defends false teaching. We should not fellowship with those who serve their own thoughts through false doctrine.

Takes from Ch.3-Fellowship Becomes *the* Issue:
The desire for Lutheran unity was at odds with the idea of how much doctrinal unity was necessary for fellowship. Some in Missouri felt that traditionalism was overtaking Scriptural truth. There was a divide in Missouri over the “midwestern” versus “eastern” stances of conservatism with fellowship.

Short summary of the last 100 pages:
Chaplaincy programs in the military and the Boy Scouts were points of debate and contention between the LCMS and the WELS. Eventually, the concerns about unionism became *the* fundamental issue.
The next questions became — Can we discuss fellowship if we have not hammered out our doctrinal differences? Does praying together imply unity of doctrine?

Continuing my read from about 6 years ago… skipped chapter 1 to get back into it.

It’s starting to get dense yall. But I appreciate it for that. It always makes me a little nervous reading a Christian perspective on science book that was written 20 or so years ago because I worry things have changed. I don’t think this book will address the Cosmic Inflation theory, but the other problems seem to remain the same

Listening to this on audiobooks as I drive and wow… I am impressed so far on some of the Law connections it has made. Very insightful imo

Sadly I already disagree with the author in chapter one and his take on life… however perhaps that is to be expected when contrasting a biblical morality with a secular one.
Chapter 1 was on the “minimum conception,” which is the idea that all morality should be based on solid logic that takes into consideration those who are affected by decisions made.

Picked this up at the thrift store. Unfortunately, I already disagree with the author’s take on life in the first chapter. However it is good to read other people’s logic even when I disagree.

I’ve reread Divergent a handful of times, but not so much Insurgent or Allegiant. This book is definitely a bit slower paced in a sense, but I’m enjoying listening to it again.

Brushing up on the Latin doctrinal phrases with this book

And a few I can figure out myself… determined to just *know* these and passively build my Latin knowledge

I have a love-hate relationship with the Latin phrases sprinkled throughout.

Recently was handed down this book. It feels good to pick up a doctrinal book again.
