I don't even know where this book is atm

This book is unbearably bad. The writing is atrocious. Garwood throws every single PoV and interpretation into the prose. Wow, she writes as if the readers are dummies

After a great start, this one is tough going. So much for rave reviews. "Banter" is more like inanity with all the back and forth of their emotions. Just finished the fever episode and that was truly ridiculous. Clearly Garwood has never personally been involved with an infection-based fever

Re-reading for book club. Has been 30 year so interested in my take now

I had to drive all day yesterday and could not continue reading. It hurt.

Damn near impossible to put down

Going to be hard-pressed not to pull an all- nighter reading this one.

No idea where I put this down. I might have reshelved or boxed it ... Somewhere

no idea why I started this one. I read a Company of Rogues book a couple weeks back and this was the jilted fiancee's book. I didn't love the other one. But it is on my shelf so going to read it. Meh.

Having trouble putting this down and going to bed.

Moving right along.

I had put this novel down around page 41 (end of Ch. 4). I just could not do it. The novel was just impenetrable. Eventually, I misplaced it for a few months. I have picked it up again and made it to p. 89 and am moving forward with not only less /pain/ but with an emotion which beginning to resemble pleasure. We shall see.
