Knox offers a bet to Sloane under the terms if the wedding happens he’d back off and let Sloane chase after Finn (who she loves) BUT if it goes to shit he will pursue her. When brought back up in Sloane’s perspective while agreeing Finn help sabotage the wedding to win Delilah (who he loves) back she thinks of the bet. “If I help win Finn win back Delilah, Knox wins out bet and gets to pursue me”

Kind of underwhelming compared to the first book in regard to spice. But It’s still a solid storyline.

Reading this as part of a book club. Had no knowledge of the book as I didn’t look into it. I read my fair share of dark fantasy, but this one definitely takes the cake and I’m only 3 chapters in. 😅 Pray for me.

Fantasy/Dark Romance with lots of 🌶️ 😮‍💨

This book is aimed for young adult. Being 31 I felt odd going into a book based on 17 year olds. Cassie has the natural ability to profile. She is recruited by the FBI along with other naturals (liar, emotional reader/masking, analyzer) to work on cold cases but then Cassie becomes a target for an ongoing killer basing the kills of her moms murder. Very well written, intelligent, and keeps you hooked, with a twist!
