Interesting to think that Massachusetts' quick recognition of the wrongs of Salem is one time we got something right (as opposed to sweeping injustices under the rug/minimizing them), and that's why they're so famous - not because they were the worst witch trials (they weren't)

King James was a paranoid, narcissistic, crazy person and I'm concerned that his version of the Bible is so widely used. John Knox, who had a major influence on his childhood, defffintely hated women 🤢

Allison Balfour, who was tortured; forced to watch her husband, son, and daughter be tortured; confessed; and then retracted her confession and shared what had been done to her and her family at her execution - I feel your determination and you deserved better

Euphame MacCalzean, a woman who inherited her family's extensive property, whose husband took her last name, and who had it all taken away after she was convincted as a witch and burned for supposedly causing rough seas while King James was traveling - you're a queen and I'll remember you

It's giving if Bryce Quinlan's mate was Rhysand and the Court of Nightmares was the true Night Court (and...they were even more of exhibitionists than Rhys and Feyre)

It's only come up twice but I need someone to tell Davenport that it should be "scale mail" not "scale male" (*eye twitch*)

This book is curing me of my concern that I give MMCs more leeway than FMCs, and I'm grateful for that 😂. This man (boy?) is ridiculous.

These books keep reminding me that I'm not used to reading real adult fantasy that forces you to put things together on your own rather than spelling everything out. Big brain time 🧠. Jemisin was the first author to win 3 consecutive Hugo awards for this trilogy for a reason 😅
