Girl, I understand your beef (somewhat, since you are very vague about it) but Blythe is the one who’s been the kindest to you this entire time please chill out with the bloodthirst. She doesn’t know about the tree thing. JEEZ this character can be cruel and self-serving and this unknowable rage we keep talking about is really not an excuse. Is this horror? Is she gonna be a bit villainous? Maybe!

Respectfully and with love I think our girl might be a little bad at this 😞 I don’t know why we think this is going to work on the one major skeptic we’ve come across but that does make sense given that she’s a 16 year old, impulsive, self taught, scam artist!

This guy was already difficult to root for (stubborn, rude, they gave him a puppy to make him more likable but it didn’t work) and now we’re also adding the additional obstacle that he has a dark past as a war criminal? Ok yes Violet is too but she’s a lot easier to root for. I’m all for morally gray main characters but this guy needs all the help he can get. Maybe i’ll change my mind! Atmosphere super cute

I say this with love and appreciation. The plot is going a little wild and cause and effect is a little off the rails.
The descriptions of these wild events don’t lend them the gravity they should have. There’s not enough description maybe? Or too much description on the wrong stuff.
I do like the humor!

I still like it, but it’s slowing down for me a bit. The powers are so abstract and vague (and convenient), the characters aren’t giving me much, and despite all the big cool stuff going on it doesn’t feel like it has the weight behind it. Maybe I’m just tired-reading.

Lyssa is simultaneously so emotionally aware of her own feelings and faults, and so stubbornly slow to accept any relevations. Love her

Good! The power descriptions are a little hard to follow.

Really good! My only complaints: It’s a little repetitive, very unsubtle and it’s a little hard to believe they love each other more than anyone else after all this tension and not knowing each other super long. I mean their friendship has been really nice but it’s been less than a month and they had like a couple good interactions. But still really good!! Love then!

I liked the creature. I wish we got more creature and less boring cliche cultists. I wonder why the hungry creature lived so far underground. Is there a thriving ecosystem under there?

The villains are comically evil and are less characters than plot devices. And the dialogue isn’t great. I’m still having a pretty good time though.

I like the forest vibes and the dog, but the main character is hard to sympathize with. Also being narratively rewarded for being standoffish to coworkers who had done nothing wrong at the time bc they are now mustache twirling villains. Also are we ever going to revisit the inappropriate violent and lustful intrusive thoughts they had for the first couple chapters or are we not talking about that anymore?

Good! Tyler’s awful. I like the eldritch beasts. I hope nothing bad happens to the cat.

I’m finding Noah a bit sullen and self absorbed and he’s a bit hard to root for. Also I’m skipping all the sex stuff.
