I say this with love and appreciation. The plot is going a little wild and cause and effect is a little off the rails.
The descriptions of these wild events don’t lend them the gravity they should have. There’s not enough description maybe? Or too much description on the wrong stuff.

I still like it, but it’s slowing down for me a bit. The powers are so abstract and vague (and convenient), the characters aren’t giving me much, and despite all the big cool stuff going on it doesn’t feel like it has the weight behind it. Maybe I’m just tired-reading.
