Not really sure I feel about this book so far. Lots of dumb decision made by the FMC but also she essentially in isolation for her whole 20 years of life so that explains some of it but like girl, please stop trusting everyone that you just meet.

God I love how T Kingfisher writes. I love her ability to make me forget that this is suppose to be a horror book and the dread that they are able to build is so good.

Usually I hate having to read letters/emails to move things along but I actually love it here

I didn’t realize that this was a literal retelling of Moby Dick just make it space and I feel like I’m in AP Lit again.

You know… the book is falling flat. Has the elements, the partial execution to be this brutal gory book with terrifying, omnipotent monsters but it just falls short. Not enough gore or satisfying gore of that makes sense, and the monsters are like just there kinda hangin around.

It’s like DnD and damn do I love it

Could I finish this book tonight. Yes I could but then it will be over and it’s not like I have the ability to go back in time to read this book for the first time again.

Now the real question is does this evolve from just being a minor and her married teacher sleeping with each other to something meaningful (moral or ethical-wise) or is it just is what it is.

You know… this hits a bit weird especially since we just had a 17 year old stab her math teacher and then herself because she was obsessed with him.

This books is incredibly plain and predictable. If you have read any fae shadow daddy romance book, you have basically read this book. Also why are there so many characters. How am I supposed to remember who is who.
I am going to finish this book bc I am buddy reading it with a friend.
