My eyes get good exercise from rolling into the back of my head every time this 18 year old describes an impossible feat of strength she did off page before the start of the story that sounds way more interesting that what’s happening at the moment, like ‘killing 23 men with only a pickaxe’ or ‘freeing 200 slaves in a rebellion’ which she brings up randomly out of shame by association. I am so not sold on the main love interest. They have no reasonable chemistry, and there’s a secondary man who is in every way superior and treats her way better. It’s not an issue if she just isn’t into him, but it does feel like she should at least JUSTIFY why she IS into the other guy just a bit more to sell me on it. Not being sold on it is frustrating. Settings are impeccable tho, and Ena is cool too

Feyre is more evil to Tamlin than he was ever to her. He’s just stupid and emotionally compromised, not evil. Also, Tamlin’s development feels so forced that I feel like the author is in my ear TELLING me I’m supposed to hate Tamlin now

Feyre has more audacity than I’ve ever seen. I’ve never wanted to slap a main character across the face before. If she isn’t vomiting (this book is 20% that) or horny posting (about 50%) then she’s aggressively lacking in thoughtfulness and lacks understanding of those around her. She makes a great case for the tree in sharing your feelings with a woman vs a tree. I hope she gets better soon that would rock

Feyre throws up like 50+ times in way too short a span of time, girl NEEDS to see the inside of a hospital or a psych ward ASAP not

The fantasy world and descriptions are nice, but there’s a heavy lean on proper nouns that we don’t know what they mean, and not enough explanation. I hate guessing what things mean, and since the story is titled after Nightfall, it would be nice to have it explained as soon as possible. It hasn’t been yet. The prose is also PURPLE and overdone. Author is lovely though, excited to keep reading! Excellent cover!

I’m only four chapters in and I stopped for months because it killed my will and desire to read. It hurts.

If you are sexist against both men and women, hate children and motherhood, and also everything you do has a political tinge to it, this is the book for you.
