My eyes get good exercise from rolling into the back of my head every time this 18 year old describes an impossible feat of strength she did off page before the start of the story that sounds way more interesting that what’s happening at the moment, like ‘killing 23 men with only a pickaxe’ or ‘freeing 200 slaves in a rebellion’ which she brings up randomly out of shame by association.
