Brb just got traumatised by the quote on the first page helpp

I am genuinely concerned that I'll become pretentiously, performatively pseudo-intellectual.

I miss being a kid, when everything I did was honest and self-driven; now I reconsider every action within the context of others(' opinions). I miss my curiosity. I miss watching documentaries. I miss thinking of something I want to learn about and then reading 10 books about it.

I opened up booktok for the first time today. Having been lulled into a sense of security with booktube, I was not ready to be absolutely traumatised.

The fact that anything about domestic violence, abuse, and literal SA is revered like it is trivial. It is so incredibly short-sighted and horrifying. The way that shock value is preferred over anything else? It's horrific what's normalised and easily accessible.

I mean, I HATE the lack of quotation marks, but I felt like it had so much potential in the school-year chapters. Now it feels so rushed and a little gross 🥲

Loving this so far! Starting to go through the classics in my library rn and enjoying all of them 🙂‍↕️ would recommend especially with the elif intro!!

I'll have to see how this goes! I didn't love the Hobbit just because of the writing style, imo, but I look forward to reading this series because it is a classic!

Also it feels like a Gossip Girl/Breakfast Club mystery/thriller mash-up cross-over spin-off...
