i’m finishing this book just because of how close to the end i am, but then i’m never reading anything by this author again because of how disgusting this one sex scene is. both technically trash and morally fucking gross at the same time.

it just doesn’t make sense that anna and leo would fall apart to this extent after one singular moment of miscommunication. everything we’ve seen of their relationship so far shows that it’s one built on frank honesty, so it’s a gross manipulation of their relationship for neither of them (or really both of them) to try and talk this through IMMEDIATELY. miscommunication trope done fucking h o r r i b l y

darcy is bang out of order for trying to lecture tory here. after the way she shut tory out and treated her like shit because of her gross relationship with orion, the actual gall of her to speak to tory this way is unbelievable. maybe darcy and orion are mfeo after all actually, because they’re both selfish, stupid pieces of shit with huge victim complexes

it’s also such lazy and contradicting world-building to have the student / teacher thing be treated as such a big deal when the students are of age and there’s such an emphasis put on their ~freedoms as fae. so they can fight each other willy nilly and no one can intervene, orion can physically and verbally treat students however he wants, but personal relationships are a no no. make it make sense

the writing has somehow gotten even worse in this book. after never using the term “pissing” to describe blood flow before, the writers have now used it twice within 50 pages, but from two totally different character’s perspectives. so lazy.

the darcy / orion scenes are so cringe i can’t even make myself read them anymore. such a lazy and creepy and dated take on the student/teacher trope

at this point even if seth and everyone he cares about dies screaming and shitting themselves ten times over it still won’t be enough to make up for all the horrific things he has done. one of the most absolutely irredeemable characters ive ever come across in anything. he is himself the pure absence of goodness or worthiness.

it’s absolute total bullshit for anyone to try and make tory feel like she did the wrong thing in refusing darius as her mate. we have like three different characters besides darius himself trying to berate and blame her (even just partially) and even shipping them myself, i can’t see any truth in anything any of them say. we didn’t see ANY redeeming features in darius up to that point. she did the right thing

bro all i’m saying is that if tory and darius don’t find a way to fix their bond then i will regret reading this entire series and also ever having been born

all of the male leads are described to be so unattractive so far. the irish mentions are all either completely unrealistic or wholly cringe. FL doesn’t seem detestable yet, but god there’s a lot of totally unnecessary abuse and suffering even so far. not a lot to keep me interested either. hopefully an attractive ML appears?

genuinely what gives Archer the impression that he has any say over what MK says or does? he’s essentially a child. living in his step daddy’s mansion. he’s not a functioning adult and he has no right whatsoever to try and discipline anyone else

i’ve thought so far that only Archer was completely irredeemable, but after Steele’s stunt and Kody enabling Archer’s bs plus all the gross rapey kisses? nah. they’re all garbage.
