I’ll say just one thing, this did not make me miss Alabama

Adam Sims is one of my favorite audiobook narrators and I don’t know whether to chase more books read by him or admit he will always be Eddie Flynn to me

The hype is appropriate. A good mix of science, humor, and challenges, and the end is very well done! Was fun to read this while it’s really popular and can now go see the movie while it’s still in theaters.

This book felt SO long… the story was good, and I did enjoy it, but it just dragged for me which ruins the reading experience. Picked this up because I’ve seen shutter island, and therefore should’ve known it’d be dense. Holds a lot of backstory and full characters that you have to keep up with to understand what’s going on.

Shoutout to this book for keeping me quite entertained while I drove all day. Had a slight lull in the middle, but otherwise great! I don’t do true crime podcasts much anymore but I love these audiobooks with them.

I keep seeing “love island meets lord of the flies” and therefore obviously I’m going to read it

The writing in this is so elegant I’m completely wrapped up in it and loving it in the way you enjoy something that’s also slowly breaking your heart

I’m not convinced I’ll finish this but we’ll give it a go for now

Not my favorite of the series, but I’ll read anything about Eddie Flynn. This one is based on true events and not as lighthearted as some of the others.

This reminded me of Wrong Place Wrong Time, but I liked it better! The voice for “The Wife” though… I’m glad she wasn’t the main narrator.

DNF @41%. I’m just NOW getting into the actual mystery of the book and I feel like I’ve given it plenty of time to intrigue me and I don’t want to give it more 🤷🏻‍♀️ wayyyyy too much time was spent talking about Avery and her episodes of American Events and arguing her salary and I don’t see how that matters at all to the actual case being presented. Maybe it does, but I’ll never know.

I picked this for my book club to read in February and have been dying to dive in!! I usually try to wait so books are fresh when we discuss but I’m finally caving. Here’s to hoping it lives up to my expectations because I am so excited

I’m… disappointed. I know I’m the outlier but I struggled with this one. I guess I knew enough from reading the original trilogy that I felt this was repetitive? It was just lacking something for me, felt like consecutive gut punches without much to keep me motivated 😬 unpopular opinion but songbirds and snakes was better

Struggling to get into this. I just now am realizing who the characters from all the POVs are (I think) and still am a bit unsure why I care about several of them. Just a lot of backstory on each person that I feel could’ve been condensed. Will keep trudging for now… hoping this turns around and there’s a lightbulb where I see why I care

The whiplash!!! I was intrigued, shocked, and even cried. I was in the mood for an amazing thriller and got exactly what I wanted. One twist was slightly less believable than the 50 others, but honestly I expect that in most thrillers and there was so much good that I’ll allow it. 10/10 recommend, very binge-able.

Kenna picked this for book club which means I get to reread it and I’m so excited

Liked it less than the first, felt a bit filler (which I expected when I realized why it’s called the elite…) but I’m hopeful for the next one. I’m over the triangle

I absolutely loved how witty some of Martha’s comments were. And Ephraim was probably my favorite character. I enjoyed the stories about her family, the court dates, and the midwifery. There was just a good chunk of the book in the middle where there were too many characters and things were moving too slow for me, but overall a good read!

This book has some cringy moments, but in the way that this was written for people half my age so you can’t really fault it if that makes sense? Overall I actually enjoyed it, just a lighthearted YA read. Probably won’t binge the series but I’ll continue

Fun Christmas listen, nothing too crazy but enjoyable

Interesting read. A lot of it talks about what we all already know by this point, but he brought up a few things I hadn’t learned about yet. Did this book make me more anxious because it feels ever more impossible to actually reverse and fix any of this? Possibly. But it’s a good reminder of what we can each do individually and in our own home at least.

I will read anything Alice Feeney writes. And to think I was convinced I had this one figured out…

“You were good, I’m waiting for you to be great” vibes. I enjoyed the first half more actually and then it just fell a bit flat for me. And *if* one part was meant to be a twist, some recent clinical experiences made me tune into it very early on. Liked the vibes, just needed more substance in the plot.

My least favorite of this “series” so far. I enjoyed starting at 50% to about 90% I’d say, but the beginning was slowww and I didn’t like parts of the ending either. I probably should’ve seen it coming though

If we are related and you’re seeing this, I don’t recommend this book.

If we’re friends…. I do😅 the trials are SO intriguing!! I got nervous it was going to be too devil-ish for me but it lightens up! This was so unique, pulled me in bad, and the ending twist had my jaw DROPPED. The 🌶️ was much higher than my typical reads hence the above disclaimer so you’ve been warned

My favorite of the series so far!! I LOVED this one

Kristin Hannah has a way of making me sob like no one else does which is crazy considering I’ve never met her😭 went into this blind for book club, ended up ugly crying on my couch. I care so deeply about so many of these characters, and my emotions were (clearly) VERY involved in every change. I was angry, devastated, hurt, excited, proud, and now a bit empty. Excuse me as I blankly stare and contemplate life

I’ve never read about a more toxic group of friends/lovers/gang members/ all of the above😂 they are all sharing one brain cell but don’t communicate to even use it. This book draggedddd for me, I feel like you could pick either Magnolia or Daisy’s books but you don’t need both?
