I seriously need to keep an occult encyclopedia nearby while reading. Maybe also an English-French-Portuguese-Italian-Hebrew-Latin Dictionary...

This book gives me headaches fr. I need an occult dictionary to follow along. I need to talk to my crazy, misogynistic landlord more about numerology.

Every time I think I've made really good progress, I've really only read 20 pages.

The last 30 pages or so have been all one long schizophrenic ramble by one character and only briefly and intermittently interrupted by comments from others to remind us that they are in the room. And I really really enjoyed it.

Very fun, Vonnegutian diatribe there. At first, I was annoyed that the story was paused, but I leaned into it and enjoyed myself. I, too, am a fool, Belbo.

In 30 pages, the name Sam Spade has already been printed here more times than in the actual Maltese Falcon.

Also, Chapter 2 is so much more legible than Chapter 1, and that includes the email with the fake Finnish. So this won't be as bad as I thought.
