It’s interesting just really hard to get into since I don’t read this kind of writing often

For book club ☺️

So far, this reads very similar to The Cruel Prince. I don't mind this, but the pattern sticks out while I'm reading, and that kind of takes my focus away. The pattern I'm talking about is little bits of present-information then a long background explanation. This is then followed by a couple chapters of flashbacks.

So far still really into the story but I'm not thinking too much about it outside of reading, mostly due to being on vacation.
Vincent and Matilda aren't convincing me of any romance atm, but I could be persuaded. Their scenes are very sweet.

Such a good story so far! I am excited to finally get more of Vincent.
The way RR’s Gods system is described is really interesting too :)

So Elm’s chapters seem to be just wanting to…be… with Ione. Then Elspeth’s are about the Shepherd King’s past which is VERY interesting. Finally, Rayvn’s are about the main plot that I care about: Finding the Twin Alders card. It just seems like I don’t get enough of Ravyn’s chapters to stay interested in that part tho :(
