I will say one character is recovering from spousal abuse. However, the story switches between characters narrating and time periods, which helps break it up. Not sure if I’ll finish it. I’ll give it a little more time.

After getting a few chapters in I started to enjoy this book and the main character more. She frustrated me at first and book 1 was average, but I’m definitely pleased I decided to keep reading the series
