The Russians have not forgotten about her. They are paying someone to look for her, but I’ve had the luck so far they also cannot figure out who the mole is or where the information is being sent into the FBI, but they have three hackers on the payroll, trying to figure that out.

He updates us about Ty and his wife after he sobered up in the jail Cell for the night. Originally he was somewhat understandable, but him and his wife started yelling and he ended up trying to choke his lawyer.

Later that night, Abigail tries to talk to Brooks about them separating, but he manages to worm information out of her about her mother and upbringing

We check in on Ilya who is running phone scams

Abigail goes to town after trying to catch up on work in the morning and runs into Brooks. She is frustrated that she can’t keep us a schedule and that she’s getting extra attention walking through the downtown area with him. They stop at Sonny’s and meet Play-Doh the dog. She starts to get frazzled and goes home to prepare a speech where she will tell him she is no longer interested.

Hector and the Trojans slowly break down the wall amidst falling rocks and spears. The strength of these men is far superior to those of the modern world do to there godly lineage.
Jove feels this war is well within victory for the Trojans and leaves to oversee other maters. Neptune is pissed at Jove and performs larger acts of support strengthening the men.
Idomenus leads the remaining Greeks and holds his own

Nestor convinces Patroclus to recruit Achilles for the fight. Yet to be seen if p can convince A. Despite Joves warning the other gods encourage the hero’s of the age and grant them strength to continue fighting. The Greek host is pushed back to the walls they built around there ships. The gods were not given Jerome when they built these walls so they are none to pleased.

Ulysses and Diomed spy on the Trojans at night They intercept a man who was trying to spy on them and kill him after he tells them the Trojans plan along with this they had into the camp of the Trojans stealing horses and killing the king of one of the men who was serving under Hector

That next day, the battle continues and the fight seems to be even. Agamenone is fighting like crazy but is stabbed through the arm.

The Greeks are pushed back to their ships by the chosen army, and Hector who now has the bone of Joe’s will on his side. The Greek Senate embassy to Achilles, who has remained out of the battle after Agana stole his “prize”.
It appears as though this group is fighting in vain for Achilles help as he will not help a man who he feels. He cannot trust, despite being offered cities and women and gold.

Hector and Diomed battle one V one to determine who should win the war, but his night approaches drove, tell them to stop the fight. At this point, his allegiance is are tilting towards the Trojans, which angers his wife. He tells the other gods not to interfere or he will kill them for he is far more powerful than the others combined.

Hector is told to go into the city and ask the priests and priests is to make sacrifices to the gods, particularly Minerva who has been fighting on the side of the Greeks thus far to this point the Trojans have been pushed back and are in dire shape. On his way back to the Bible, he visits his wife who bleeds with him to be a husband before a hero, but he is needed by his men and returns to the lines.

Brooks and Abigail finally due to the deed. Afterwards she reveals to him that she had an idedic memory and that she thought she had to be a doctor growing up. He tells her he wanted to be wolverine. They fall asleep and in the morning she makes pancakes. She did not perform any of her nighttime security checks which will definitely become an issue

He gets a call about his old friend Ty, who is drunk again and abusing his wife again. He beats him into punching him on the porch in front of witnesses, hoping that this will put it into the bad decisions. He goes back to Abigail‘s after where he’s greeted with some Jamison and a cold compress.

Brooks calls interrupting her working session asking her what she wants on her pizza.
She decides she does want to sleep with him, and when he gets there, she tells him which is a little offputting

Abigail hacks into her mother’s an Ilyas computer to check in and see how their lives are going. From time to time she sends big packages of data from i’s computer to the police and has shut down an illegal prostitute ring among other issues he’s getting married.

Brook brings his parents, a puppy that they name Plato. He is some sort of shepherd and very cute instantly melting Sonny’s heart. He is pulled away in momentarily for a report of a b&e. That is an elderly woman who reports them at least once a week as her house settles and makes noise.

Mars and Minerva continue to meddle in the war. Minerva encourages Diomed to start attacking gods and managed to stab Venus’s daughter in the wrist and mars through the stomach. The other gods are getting angry but Jove is not moved. Diomed and his rival meet again in the battlefield and his rival is wicked away.

Hector is bullied into joining the fight. Other nations fight for him but he dallies behind walls

And retreats before bidding the gods for the strength to kill the man who wounded him. They made him stronger, like storm light, he crashes through the Trojan army looking for the man who shot him quickly slaying dozens.
Mars left the fight and the tide is turning in favor of the aegeans

The first large battle takes place. We watch most of the time from a third person view rather than in anyone’s pov. Switching quickly through the battle the book describes some of the wounds in deep detail while quickly passing over the death of others. The gods interfere on both sides making some men stronger and others led into foolish decisions. One man named Diomed is shot in the shoulder with an arrow

On Olympus Jove wishes to end the fight while Juno wishes to see Troy burn. She makes a deal with Jove that she will not rally against him in the future if he allows her to follow through with her current goals. She asks Minerva to go to the Trojans and have an archer shoot the husband of hers while he rests. They agree breaking their oaths but he is not killed.

The Greeks make it to Troy where the husband of Helen challenged her capture in single combat for the prize of his wife to end the war. It looks like her original husband is going to win when one of the gods whisks him away to his bedchamber. It’s a cheap trick and seems like it will
Lead to more bloodshed

From here A asks the gods to tell him the names of all the captains which is a plot device if I have ever seen one. It goes on for 15 pages.

Good grief half of this chapter was just names…..

Jove sent a lying dream to Agamemnon who saw it for what it was and feared he was being lied to. He commanded the men to leave the war they were fighting after 9 years to much applause. The gods however deemed this should not be allowed they sent menerva (daughter of Jove) to convince them to stay. She mostly called the cowards but it works.

Achilles and some of the other leaders beg him to release the girl to end the blight Apollo has wrought and he does although begrudgingly. In return, he takes Achilles prize Achilles is pissed about this and Becks, his mother who is a sea goddess to plead with Jove for a retribution. Jo agrees, although his wife is fond of the Greeks and does not want to support the children’s of which Achilles will lead.

Starting my summary with a complaint, they do not use the standard Greek names for gods in most cases. Apollo is still Apollo but Zeus is jive and hers is Juno. The Greeks are Danaans

Aggrmemnon is angry because he has claimed a sex slave as spoils of a recent war. The slave was the daughter of a Prost who has begged Apollo of sucre and was rewarded by slaying the armies of AG

Introduction mentions the development of translation over the years. This book aims to be more approachable in its prose compared to its contemporaries however it is still more flowery then modern translation. It was translated in 1898 a full 99 years before I was born so some of the verbiage has been harder for me to follow

Logen heads back north to see to his people when black Dow attacks him. He hates him and hates that he killed tul. The devil didn’t know he is a devil. Logen escapes jumping out of a window and we don’t know if he drowns or survives.

Ardee brings G some level of comfort that he never thought to have deserved. West visits and looks to be on deaths door. He congratulates Glotka before getting sick and leaving. Sergeant pike stays behind and is revealed to be Rews who gltoka tortured all the way back in the begging. G, knife at his throat talks his way out of being killed yet again and offers to let pike torture sult.

Glotka realizes that JL’s wife “has no use for men” so he takes her partner and holds her prisoner until she is bearing the kings child. She does as he asks although is not to thrilled she puts on a show. There is a deep sadness in her that likely won’t ever leave

Jazel has words with Bayaz and tries to defy him. B uses his art to torture JL until he agrees to fall in line. B tells JL that G is boss

Frustrated he picked up flowers with the plan of visiting his sister but drove to Abigail’s instead.
they had soup and watched die hard. There chemistry is starting to grow and th good bye kids got both there nerves up. Abigail thought about Ilya when brooks was talking about highschool crushed. First on paper mention that she is Liz

The next day sylbie tried and to seduce him by getting a shop keeper to call him down then pulling the naked man. He did his best to keep eye contact and turned her down. He then fined the shopkeeper for filing a false police report.

er way into Abigail’s house with bye and persistence. While a bit socially awkward she found Abigail to be endeering and encouraged brooks to visit with a bottle of wine.
Brooks and his mother both have a talent for talking their way into what they want and he managed to sneak a smooch in before he left.
