I’ve had to read this in chunks because it started messing with my head. So. Much. Happens.

A story with horses as the main mode of transport is exactly where my headspace lives.

Knights. King Arthur. Camelot. sigh.

I want to fall into this book based on the cover alone.

A moment of laugh out loud hilarity (being reintroduced to Katz) and some beautifully written descriptions are not enough for me to continue this book at this time. I thought “traveling” once again with Bryson would be just the thing, but it wasn’t. He seemed more intent on creating humor where it wasn’t than sharing actual experiences, and was a bit denigrating describing some people.

I try to learn just enough about a book that know I want to read it. Once it lands on my tbr list I don’t delve further. My weird twist? While reading Rebecca, this book came through on my library card and I borrowed it. I just finished Rebecca, and as I
started this book I realized what had happened - guess what I’ll be reading next? It’s been decades since reading Jane Eyre. Why not make it a triumvirate?

I will be savoring my way through this book.
