Chapter 26: jfc ew

Chapters 1 - 9 barely make up 2 episodes of the anime! There's so much to read... 15 light novels, to be exact.

Story amps up the daddy issues trope & idk how to feel about it. The MC's a teen named Waldo, like "Where's Waldo", as if emphasizing that she wants to find her place in the world...or something like that. She's a dull character despite her circumstances.
It's hard to distinguish the MC's voice from the author's & it makes the book read like a bad memoir. I'll keep reading but I'm less enthusiastic about it now.

I'm enjoying this book more than I enjoyed Song of Achilles, but I think that's because I'm not that knowledgeable about Circe.

I watched Machado do a live reading of the 1st couple of chapters on Crowdcast in 2021 & I thought that she looked & sounded very passionate about her work, but I never really paid attention to her words until now that I’m finally reading her memoir... So far, so good.

I'm already hooked.
