this book is a genuine fever dream but it is also so insanely funny I’ve genuinely laughed out loud so many times this is so clever I’m obsessed

so far this novel is so wacky I genuinely really am enjoying this way more than I expected, def need to know a bit about the USSR to understand the satire tho

the premise is pretty interesting and so far it actually has me invested through the description of scent which is really cool bc yk of all the senses described in books, i feel like scent is the least common
so it’s a very interesting experience reading this

I have so many questions about this world, but the moment that the smut occurred... I knew my questions would never be answered bc why have world-building when you could have ALIEN SUPERHERO COCK

lowkey though its so absurd that it's almost campy like its undeniably entertaining... it has so many silly little tropes in it, but you know what? who cares! let's see where it's going

I like superheroes and I feel like I'm being too pretentious these days (I've started reading translated poetry for God's sake AND writing it down in a little writing journal like some sort of 1880s author) so I'm going to try some good old fashioned contemporary romance out for a lil fun to get back on the reading grind!

why am I in my reading era rn

this is a very intriguing read so far! there are changes in perspective and tense each chapter so it makes it a bit of a switching about when you read but it’s also a very interesting structural component that adds to the story!
my fav perspective rn is Levi’s bc it gives me very much horror vibes (dare I say.. Gothic? Australian Gothic? Fuck I LOVE Australian Gothic underrated as hell)

brah why on earth am I still doing year 12 English homework when I am graduated and studying medicine 💔💔 it’s really interesting so far tho so I’m kinda intrigued

lowkey as soon as they introduced Jem I was so invested in this #originalbadboybookbf he’s such an asshole but Mary is a baddie who constantly puts him in his place- this dynamic in a book from the 1930s set in the 1820s is so refreshing I love it

it’s such an interesting story like you can’t help but love Dantes and be excited for his eventual revenge
ppl who kept recommending this novel bc they said it reminded them of Jason Todd I owe you my LIFE
and yea it’s very long but the pacing is really good and as it continues it gets more and more interesting hehe

OH MY FUCK I’m so into this book 😭 that is so unexpected 😭😭 Mr Darcy is so smitten with Elizabeth even if he hates to admit it 🤭 and lowkey the overarching plot is so intriguing even if it’s just day-to-day life 🫶🏽 rooting for Jane and Mr Bingley pls I need them to get married they’re so cute
