Absolutely loving the writing, and the fact that the FMC and MMC have a hunger for each other, but are not driven by lust. The slow plot reveal is amazing, with the truth coming out in layers that have me pouring through the chapters.

Just going to be throwing this back into the TBR pile. I’m reading this several months after reading the first book, and it’s so aggravating having characters agonize over what someone said in the last two chapters of the previous book when there’s no reminder of what was said. I never thought those little dialogue recaps to remind readers were needed until now. Clearly these need to be read back to back.

Characters got way too thirsty way too fast. The Mains were lusting within 12hrs of meeting. I’ve given it till nearly 50%, and this is likely a DNF. The instant smut thirst combined with the fates mates trope isn’t leaving much room in my eyes for a good relationship development arc.
Good for someone looking for fantasy smut, but not for me.

200 pages in, time to order the next one so that I won’t have to wait when I finish.
