Boring, will not finish

The library book was returned which caused a major setback in my reading completion

Not gripping me

The story line has kept me pretty interested. The Michael part was predictable but otherwise this has been full of unexpected moments. I never read about this book so I’m going in completely blind.

Chapter 47 seems to have a continuity error where it starts referring to the robber as a female

So far it’s pretty predictable, but it’s not bad. I definitely think the action moments are pretty gripping and it makes the book hard to put down. I’m actually shocked that I’m over 200 pages in already!
Not smutty at ALL!!

The “woe is me, I’m a monster” is repetitive and annoying

I’m not enjoying the rapid-fire comparison of “before” and “after” scenes, coupled with Greer’s sudden switch to Embry. Also, the ravishment/rapeplay made me feel extremely uncomfortable.

Two ladies, both wearing a “chignon,” and I can’t help but wonder why the author is so fixated on that hairstyle.

This book has a somewhat amateurish feel to it, as if a 16-year-old was tasked with writing a short story and, in their attempt to use as many words as possible, neglected the importance of developing the characters and plot.

I’m on page 24 and this book has given me whiplash with the amount of characters, yet such little development. It’s hard to be interested and I’m trying to push through, but this writing style is not my favorite.

The prologue gave me just enough detail to understand the situation, but kept the story vague enough to keep me hooked and wondering what would happen next. It was predictable of who she would find on the table.

I really could not get into it and finally gave up.
