I have a feeling I will be enjoying this one. The story of Zeno , one of the first Stoics is a great one.

I may have to reread this chapter again.

Enjoyed reading the previous chapter. Normally we are conditioned to want news or responses in the affirmative.

In negotiation, No is typically the beginning of a discussion. I was reminded to always show empathy and remember it's not about you.

Lastly, there are 3 types of Yes responses .Counterfeit, Confirmation and Commitment

Chapter 3 was interesting . I got to understand about the concept of labeling an how you can use it to set the right environment to have a conversation.

Anytime the environment is not ideal all forms of rational thinking or dialogue go off the roof.

The previous chapter was on mirroring and this one on labelling. I found the two to be essential in building rapport before any conversation.

Started this book after watching Chris Voss MasterClass on Negotiation. I applied some of his tactics and saw results.

A concept I admired was that of Mirroring and the ability to create Pschological safety at the beginning of a negotiation.

Chapter 1 was a good start. I got the mindset of mirroring and curious to learn more

Enjoyed reading the Top 10 Management HBR articles.

My top one has to be - How will you measure your life by Clayton Christensen. Its made me go back and define why I derive Joy and Fulfilment from my work.

Great stories by Clayton too. The article was so good that I ended up getting his book- How will you measure your life that he wrong alongside Karen Dilon and James Allworth

How did I delay reading this book?

Probably one of the all-time classics for anyone in the startup world. A lot of great thoughts on how to deal with ambiguity, uncertainty and how to optimize for growth and classic execution.

I recommend reading this book every year.
