I found the title a little misleading. If anything, Margo actually ended up having a lot of money. I don’t think that was the book’s main conflict, it felt like Margo’s TROUBLES were more rooted in the misogynistic government, the people who continue to tolerate it, and the challenges of being a young mother trying to survive through all of it.

This felt like a dark comedy animated sitcom that is also somehow A24 produced? Wildly satirical, chaotic, and unapologetically funny. Read if you’re not easily offended and in need of a good laugh!

I found the romanticization of New York over the top likeeeee yes, New York has the Met and the best Broadway shows, but it’s also full of rats.

If you’re a fan of the show and love books you definitely need to read this! I don’t think that the show conveyed Ilya’s yearning and longing and Shane’s emotional dilemma like how it was written in the book. There are some dialogue and scenes here that I wished they included (but maybe that’s asking for too much. I love my Ilya and Shane so much 🥹

This is so absurd and ridiculous that it still deserves a 2-star rating for making me laugh. The brownie scene had me cracking up for 1 min straight bro 🤣

Emma is better than me because if I’m in that situation I’d just ask Jesse and Sam if they’re up to become a throuple cause I can’t 😭😭😭
