trying to read slowly, because i have until the 21st to get to the 21st chapter. i’m reading tender is the flesh in a small book club with friends. they have no idea what’s in store for them, and i feel terrible. BUT THIS BOOK IS SOOO !!! i have such mix feelings on it, and i want to read all of it right now.

interesting quote however: “Because hatred gives one strength to go on;it maintains the fragile structure, it weaves the thread together so that emptiness doesn’t take over everything.” … “He also wishes he could break like Ency, but his collapse never comes.”

the main character is so interesting and yeah. what the fuck.

i am so uncomfortable, but i have so many thoughts.

i am reading this book so slowly, but it is amazing so far. the writing is gorgeous, rin is a wonderful protagonist, and the story telling is very entertaining. every time i pick this book up its hard to stop reading. however i rarely read even if i’m in the mood to. HOPEFULLY I READ MORE SOOOON PLEASE !!!

i am the worst at updating the books i’m reading and being on this app in general. i haven’t been reading as often either! but i wanted to say hiii. i hope everyone has been well and are enjoying what they are reading.

Currently in love with this book.

I’m slowly making progress haha. I started taking notes in a journal, but some things I thought we’re important:

- Untreated /unworked through trauma can cause physical issues like autoimmune disorders/diseases and asthma.

- Some people who have experienced trauma lose their sense of self making it hard or impossible to identify what their body is feeling. Which is incredibly important for body equilibrium.

What the actual flying fuck just happened?!?!?!?!?

My friend gifted me this book yesterday, because she thought it was a love poetry book strictly. But it’s about love, heartbreak, healing, and becoming a new person after a relationship. I am going through this at the moment, and I just thought it was so so so sweet of her to think of me and to gift it to me. I’m very lucky and thankful ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚

Currently listening to fantastic by king princess while playing a little gay dancing scene in my head of me and my future wife. Me (a vampire book reader) and my future wife (fairy, mermaid, goblin, mage, idc as long she my wife).

I need more fantasy wlw recommendations that ARE NOT slow burn. I’m heavily impatient and I want the romance NOW. (Jk, please recommend whatever)

I am just picking this book back up :>

This author speaks in a very confusing way, I thought at first. However, what he’s saying is really simple if I’m understanding it correctly.

Everything I know is a perspective or perception of reality told through my own experience and lies I know. The lies being whatever programming instilled in me from a child to now.

I have to admit, I am getting bored with this book. I do enjoy some of the writings within it, but I feel like even though there are new chapters with different topics— all the poems sound the same / similar. Also I physically sigh when I see the paragraphs instead of the poems. Nothing is wrong with paragraphs— I think I’m just getting bored. But some of them are very healing and worth reading to me!

I really enjoyed this chapter. My favorite poem in this section was “They’ll Always Have Something to Judge You For.”
Sometimes I feel like no matter what I say or do or how I express myself (whether it be calm or passionately), I am always seen as weird or off-putting. It’s a beautiful reminder that as long as I’m being kind with how I express myself, others can choke on me

I really like these poems! There are a few I have a hard time relating to ( not every piece of art is made for me, I know ) or reading because I feel like there’s unnecessary jabs at people who choose to step away from relationships that they aren’t happy in anymore. Nonetheless, even those poems are works of art that I appreciate. Her writing is very beautiful and inspiring.

A lot of the information I am taking in is news to me. To hear someone talk about how trauma transforms your body (and if untreated can make you develop issues like autoimmune diseases) is so so helpful and interesting. I’m not far in, but i’m very excited to continue to learn more.
