Man, I’m really trying to finish this book. I feel like I can’t quit because I dedicated all this time already. But maybe now isn’t the right time in my life for this book. I will shelve it and try another time.

Enjoyed the book more than the movie. Was excited to watch the movie when I finished the book but it was nothing like the book. I appreciated the visuals because it was hard to visualize some details of the book.

Trippy, can be difficult to picture sometimes

This has been a slow read for sure. I feel like I’m reading a young woman’s journal and thoughts, with no real plot or climax. Speed reading it now because I’ve committed this far… I must finish it… it does make me giggle sometimes but I feel like I’m wasting time on this book when there’s a pile of others on my desk.

Ok, I’m enjoying this book now. Having to look up cultural references & linguistic terms which is enlightening. Makes me more interested in linguistics.

I’ll probably finish this by the end of the day. I honestly can’t put it down. Although there are many characters to keep up with and then new ones continue to be introduced, i enjoy the different perspectives. I keep thinking that bear is alive still and that his grandfather and father had something to do with it, part because of their choice of wives and how they keep them away from their sons. i think he’s alive

Enjoying the subject matter but surprised by how much information I’m already aware of, although some within different contexts than i have learned.

Pretty slow start, not really excited to pick it back up. Started a different book but I’ll finish this eventually. I tried a new genre so maybe it’s just not for me.

This was a delightful read with wonderful illustrations

I loved this book. Took me awhile to finish because I had a lot of reading with my women’s lit class. But after reading the awakening by kate chopin, this book seems to echo a similar journey. Two women experiencing their own awakenings in different historical contexts. I also enjoyed the biological aspects with the conservation efforts in the book.

Was almost done with this book and thought hell I’ll just skim through the rest. I enjoyed the characters and their stories but the witchcraft was boring to me.. not my bag

Went out of my norm with this book. I’m not religious but the witchcraft stuff isn’t for me but I’m halfway through this book so I’ll finish it. Not one in excited to read

What an exciting read

Great read for those who enjoy science- specifically space and environmental. Getting a panspermia vibe towards the end which is fun. Author uses great humor to cut through all the physics and complex math problems 🥲 as a sci fi lover, this one is really exciting

Story seems to be inspired by the Sarah Lawrence cult
