one, i love asuka. two, i'm so sad that i'm coming to the end of this book, i love it

perfectly sized chapter, fate is real. side note, i am starting to feel the formulaic-ness of the book, but it's also kinda comforting at the same time, so...

and almost immediately, this book activated my fear of failure as i realised like 90% of my practice is "wrong" and i'm now slightly panicking as i also realise how much practice i have to do in such a short time and how that practice routine needs to be practiced during that period so i learn correctly... fuck me

i LOVE arthur, and zoe / ms chapelwhite is a close second, but gah damn the kids are really growing on me (phee made me cry, i love her)

i remember seeing in one of the reviews for this book that it was described as "being wrapped in a big gay blanket"and i can 100% confirm that that is the truth

you know, even though this book's apparently problematic, i'm discovering this is like almost exactly what i wanted my own fantasy world's oppression of magical people to look like (also i'm liking the writing style more than i thought i would)

i have so many criticisms on this book but if i finish it tomorrow and the ending bumps it up from two to three stars? i won't know what to think dear lord-

i'm determined to finish this book, regardless of however much suffering it causes me

i forgot how WEIRD amari and tzain's relationship is, like all the effort was spent making zélie and inan believable (and to be fair, it pays off), but like amari and tzain, still, after like three years, STILL feel a little sudden and just weird in general
